dooes anybody have any idea to what pedal(s) hes using at 4:31? i already have a tube screamer which is pretty spot on for his 1st solo. but 4 the 2nd solo idk. i thought he just changed pickups and used the tube screamer but it looks like he stays with the same one for the whole song.
240p and still fucking badass. they're so tight, good performance. And I even noticed some Jimi Hendrix stylish head twists when John solo'd, love it.
Had the awesome privilege of standing feet away from him on this day as he played this set and meeting him afterwards. He is a super great guy in person!!!
@edwin523 it was designed to look that way, so that theres not too much paint on the body so that the guitar can "resonate". Theres a documentary on that guitar on yotuube, look it up :).
Love J J's drums on this...especially the intro. He's got the uneven drum patterns in the intro, almost gave me the feeling that he wasn't in control. But he was!!!
John is one of those rare people who's tapped into something that really gives meaning to why you live at all. I don't know what you call it, but I'd describe it as a kind of elusive electrical energy that's invisible until it's materialized in a form all of us can witness. When I hear John play I want to sit down and listen, I know something special is about to happen. What I would give to be tapped into that in my own life.
And, I know you know when I tell you that you are frickin' giftedly sick on the electric guitar, to the point where my ipod shuffle always stops when you come on. That's "I got your BACK love", right there. Yep.
Can someone please contact me if they have the mp3 of this version? I tried downloading from YouTube but the quality isn't perfect. This isn't loud enough in my headphones.

anyone who plays guitar (lead or rhythm), sings, writes songs or performs live -- this is the non-plus ultra of music.. everything you ever need to know is in this video :)
He uses a keeley moded ts 808 tube screamer, a katana clean boost. A way huge aqua puss analog delay, and a keeley moded boss blues driver to get that sound. In this performance he most definitely is using racks for other effects.
@theosu809 I want to know too what pedal he uses; i don't have the exact answer , i bought the fulltone ultimate octave but it's not the same tone...i think it's near tone of Dunlop Jimi Hendrix Octavio ?????? what do you think ?
@viperdude1412 the drummer in this video is actually j.j. johnson. steve jordan did the studio work, and is currently drumming on the battle studies tour.
Wait OGNOGN, How can you possibley quote John Mayer's belief as Bubblegum college rock? you clearly havent listened to Continuum or Battle Studies. Or the complexity of his music.. looser

@DreadfulSolemnity Yeah and for once I'm so happy too many people are too stubborn to realise this or to open their eyes. At least we got him for ourselves (together with a bunch of girls)
@DTrucksEnthusiast you mean ... the guitar ALONE ... those CS Relics go for 15K, add an extra 3K for the Two-Rock and about a K for various pedals and you'll be set. Writing this, I realize JM is one of the most expensive music players out there ...
@gabrieltsiry Yeahh if you watch the studio video with himself, charlie hunter, and steve jordan doin in repair he pulls out his pedal collection... that being hundreds of them and in some cases 4 or 5 of the same pedal, takes up multiple tables.. AND he does in fact have over 200 guitars in his collection. I'd ballpark his total equipment stock aroundddd $200,000ish??? insanityy
@DTrucksEnthusiast it has to be even more than that. I mean just one of his dumbles can cost $50,000 alone! I remember reading he has like the most of them in the world or something too!
@3singlesntheblues I want to know too what pedal he uses; i don't have the exact answer , i bought the fulltone ultimate octave but it's not the same tone...i think it's near tone of Dunlop Jimi Hendrix Octavio ?????? what do you think ?
