It pains me so much that this version of spore will never be released. It was this very demo video that sold me on spore in the first place, where the creatures have personality, style and culture, where each stage was a game in and of itself, rather than a series of disjointed mini-games and the AI is uniform. This was supposed to be the ultimate virtual sandbox, and EA made it into a unplayable puerile money-making consumer product. Thanks EA. We were all going to be gods until you came along.

Water was removed because of control issues, animation was simplified because of technical issues there, they couldn't get certain things to work right. Generally though they cut it down to make it more kid-friendly and reap the profits, which was a real shame.

Guys, EA didn't "ruin" Spore!!! The reason why EA changed it is probably because the old game was way too complex for it to work on computers, plus the old version of Spore wasn't finished yet.

good question but no it is not .... first you have the cell stage which you are controlling one then the creature stage when you are still controlling one but it is a complex creature more then just a cell and then it goes into a RTS game
