This is not what I know of the song. It was first done in a regional market, around Chicao by a group from South Bend, IN. I have the 45. It is in storage. It was their only hit. I think they were called ...(something) and the Redcoats. They were the Insects, and they did a version with Kenny Carlton. The guy on Keyboards was Billy Warren, a Potawatomi Native American. Anybody else remember them? What happened to the group? They started in the late 50's
Hey, Have seen many dance records in the charity shops but just ignored them. They do sound great, I will be buying some in the future. Thanks for posting and introducing us to this type of music which i am sure has been forgotten by most.
@sablestable Thank you for the kind words. I was introduced to this type of music when I was given an LP of ballroom music a few years ago and since then I've been looking around charity shops and boot sales, quite successfully as not many people seem to collect it!
