@SirArthurPendragon But they dive randomly. With a long range weapon they are easy. With the shield you have to get in so close that it's inevitable most of the time you are going to get hit. If you know how to activate the hidden spare armor it's a lot easier but still ungodly hard.

Because the Shield is the ONLY weapon that will pierce the 2nd final boss.

i still cant believe how he does it looking like its so easy. I've spend maybe over 100 pounds in coins twenty so years ago and lots of hours on mame and still never succeeded in ending this game. I think this wasnt performed by human. Its impossible to finish this game without losing even a single life

@Maxthemetalkid He probably just kept doing runs until one came out perfect. No telling how many attempts this took. The 2 red devils at the end of stage 6 are all luck. There is no surefire way to kill them with the shield as the correct strategy requires you to be able to hit them at a distance going in close is asking to die and most of the time you do.

@cwash037 The 2 red devils at the end guarantee that I've only beaten them once and it was 100% luck. I guessed where they were going to dive correctly just long enough to kill one and still had 2 hits left to take the other out. This game was programmed to be unbeatable. In the nes version you can always duck under the red devils.

This is one of the most difficult game that I've seen. I have never succed to beat the 2 satans. And I have more & more difficulty to go in the 6th level.

This game is HARD! For a 25 year old title it is more challenging to beat than most new titles. The new version for PSP looks awesome.

@GlobalGallery It's harder than any other game. There is no other series this hard that only allows you to sustain 2 hits of damage before death.

I used to play this in the arcades ALL THE TIME..and never could i beat the 2 satans that await you at the top of the castle, before the final boss.. especially using that damn shield, cuz of its short range...YOU ARE THE MAN!! DAMN GOOD SHOW!

Never beat the game with Shield at the end, because it sucks so much. Of course you'rer caught in an endless Lv 5-6 loop then.
