I rode Teststrecke about 2 hours ago at Frühlingsfest in Nuremberg, Germany. And yes, the lift is now a bit faster than shown in this video.

But what's really remarkable: It runs very smooth. Much smoother than many of the new coasters. And this one was built in the 70s...

I am pretty sure that is a cable lift system, not a chain. However, yes, that is a very slow lift.

Why does the lift run that slow anyway?

The coaster was supposed to make it's debut at a fair in Minden, Germany in May but could not due to trouble with the new trains not being delivered in time. It's my guess that they delayed the debut until the Hamburg fair in August due to trouble with the new train attaching properly to the lift and that is why it is so slow at the beginning. I think the train has multiple attachments to the chain and once the entire train is in place, the lift can move at the same pace it did at Dorney.

It a traveling coaster in Germany. It goes from one fair to the next throughout the year. It made it's debut in Hamburg last month and I believe it will be at the Oktoberfest in Munich or the Volksfest in Stuttgart next.
