For a car that still can make good profit at RM26K they still regularly ran into financial crisis when those cars are sold as high as RM36K to us, is there any use for a "National Car" in the first place? The Waja is only travelling at 40km/h and the damage is awful. I rather walk/ take the public transport. I would not risk and waste money for this huge piece of aluminium.

@TheAfif87 I beg to differ. The Exora has much better safety than the Waja. Waja's the 1st car to be designed by Proton, as such back then their expertise has not been developed.
Actually Proton only did that model Impian (Waja) with European NCAP on 2002, but never tested on other models. Perodua never tested their models at all.
A lot of US and Euro also scored 3 stars like Impian, but as TG mentioned that you have to consider it carefully especially if you want the best protection for your family aka children.

I have to say this, as a Malaysian, i am very sad to see this but yet this video shows it all. I am not going to buy our local made cars until they make their cars safe.
The Waja is only travelling at 40km/h and the damage is awful. I rather walk/ take the public transport. I would not risk and waste money for this huge piece of aluminium.

It scored 3 stars for adult occupant safety but only 1 star for pedestrian safety. This was a disappointing performance but Proton says it intends to improve future designs. But it has not yet been done till now.

Actually Proton only did that model Impian (Waja) with European NCAP on 2002, but never tested on other models. Perodua never tested their models at all.
A lot of US and Euro also scored 3 stars like Impian, but as TG mentioned that you have to consider it carefully especially if you want the best protection for your family aka children.

Some people here really do talk a load of rubbish. They're not saying the cheaper the car the worse it is, they're saying be aware of just how safe each car is before you buy it, you can get some cars as cheap as the proton which are a lot lot safer.
