  • mikey's solo was too effing cool

  • Ya but if u see the other live performances of this song u can tell he was obviously having just an off day or sick here cuz he's never flat preforming this song any other time

  • What happend to the dreads and the band that I grew up loving?

  • @Medium0Rare they grew up...

  • @Medium0Rare They grew up.

  • @dazma22 ... and then created INNW. and suddenly they had taken the "growing up" one step too far.

  • you can tell he remembers that day he hit that deer with his car towards the end of the song. He is so passionate.

  • This is one of Incubus' hardest songs to sing. You can tell cause even Brandon is flat here and there in this performance. If I recall correctly, this song has the highest note without hitting falsetto out of any incubus song. Leech might be a close 2nd.

  • @BWpepperr he seems flat on the lower notes towards the beginning ... weird

  • @BWpepperr hey, but what about oil and water? that songs vocals were higher than dig, or leech

  • @Acelpheonix You're right, Oil and Water is higher, but Made For TV Movie, Pendulous Threads, and ACLOTM has some of the highest notes(aside from falsetto).

  • one of the greatest bands live ever!

  • Incubus is the best.

    Love and Light-

  • Good Times!!!!!!!!

  • i got so much respect for mike after he had to get an operation on his hand because of carpal tunnel from playing the guitar for so long. that's real dedication right there.

  • it doesnt matter what he looks like. its just an internet comment. people are too defensive.

  • who cares? hes still an amazing singer in an amazing band! it dosn't matter what they look like they got talent.

  • Who cares how he looks?

  • Wow!

  • like usual..brandon sing it perfectly and the band play it well

  • umm. dont hate. im sure you couldnt do their sound any better than the guy who did that night

  • Stop pickin out every problem. Mybe they wanted the drums to sound a bit off. And maybe they want the guitars to be loud. Just vibe with the music.

  • @Kewlkiddieluv ...next time i ever hear anyone bitch...i will say just vibe with the music...well put friend ahaha

  • Nice description. "Incubus was musical guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live on 2/26/2007. Aired on ABC on 2/27/2006." Boy, that's a trick.

  • maybe bc it's recorded on the 26th, but airs on the 27th....recorded on west coast, airs on east coast

  • Look at the years...

  • it aired a year earlier then.

  • I love incubus soooooo much. Ahhhh brandon, your vioce is just amazing. i love you!!!!!!!

  • I LOVE INCUBUS SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • dude you're so lucky to being going to that concert in chicago..by the time i heard they were playing, they were all sold out. i'm super sad man!

  • my girlfriend is taking me with a bunch of our friends. they're playing in chicago on the lake in the middle of summer on my birthday. i am the luckiest kid alive

  • wow this aired on abc a year before this was performed!

    truly magical

  • Why they don't do an europe tour?!?

  • i envy you plenty

  • i love this song so much

    and incubus

i love them, i'm seeing them this summer

    i heard they're amazing live

and this video really just proves that point

    i'm so psyched <3 !

  • july 21 baby

  • July 21st is the one I was going to go to until my tickets were stolen.

    yay... ;/

  • No way. I'm so sorry! I hate whoever stole them from you

  • You havent heard any of their good LIVE shit till you watch Alive at Red Rocks!

    Truly Amazing concert, their best

    E.V.E.R.!

  • I saw them in 2002 when I was 12...I think it was their Morning View tour. I've fell in love with them then, and I fall in love over and over every time I hear them. They are AMAZING live...that's what's so good about them...

  • Omg.

    Holy Shit.

I see how much passion he has singing and wow.

It is actually making me cry

I havee to see them live!!

  • I get goosebumps every time i listen to this song.

I'm seeing them in July woot!!!

  • ME TOO!!! IN CHICAGO!!!

  • OMG!!

    Brandon's haircut!!:)

  • Incubus was musical guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live on 2/26/2007. Aired on ABC on 2/27/2006.

    wtf?

  • dnt take too much to work out they ment 2/27/2007

  • jimmy is usually recorded like most late night shows, actually all late night shows are recorded in the afternoon in LA or NY, then reaired on the midnight or thereof of the following day.

  • make yourself will always be their most appealing cd hands down. In every direction of that album it rang success; i usually like digging deeper into a band's repitoure but i really enjoy and relate to their older stuff.

  • lol the got there own carpet with them xD awesome

  • you all shitting all over!! incubus rocks whether in light grenades or in any other albums they had!! they just keep looking to new things to grown up their musical style!!-_-

  • Toataly agree. look at the beatles one of the best bands in the world espicially for thier time, they had loads of albums and they all progresed and chaged themes and genres. compair please please me, revolver and thier finaly abby road album. they all have different sound. its just what bands do they change. bloc party are another, they have changed to alot more... indi rave then alternate rock sooo yea lol, bit of an esay

  • i love them play live.

  • I've never heard anyone compare Mike to Slash or Eddie VH before. I don't think you can. The styles are completely different between all of them. Mike was just a kid when those guys were in their prime. As much as I like Incubus and Mike, I have to say that Slash and Eddie have way better solo chops than Mike does. I still love the way Mike plays, though.

  • My favorite Incubus song. Amazing songwriting.

  • bullshit !!!theyre really good and clean live

  • old or new songs their work is still the best

  • i also agree with daniloe, i used to think more on the lines of slash and other guitarests like that, but about 5 years ago i started listening to incubus and they changed the way a looked at music. also consider that mike also plays countless other instruments such as Wurlitzer, Sitar, piano and is clearly an amazing and very tallented song writer in many different genres as prooven by incubus albums and his own solo work.

  • amazing voice

  • listening to this song.... there's something missing.. what?

  • the pants rock man.

  • Brandons passion in his singing is so strong-he even seemed like at the end there that he was choking up or stumbling as if he remembered the feelings that he had when he wrote the song

  • ah i fancy brandon so much, he's got such an amazing talented voice!

  • Mike's solo is fucking awsome and anyone who doesn't think so should go fuck themselves, you don't know what good music is.

  • You comment too much but can you play bitch?!?!

  • Hey devilmaycry178!!!! Try Playing just one song from their first album Fungus Amongus and i'll break my fingers for you....

  • Why are you all hating...just shut up and listen and watch to the damn video.

  • how dare u guys give a shit about his guitar playing. Mike owns all of you so shut the fuck up about whether he screwed up or not

  • Compare SRV,Slash,Van, hell even BB,to JIMI but not mike, not even close. Good songs, yes but so was RATM,Sound Garden, the great Nirvana,STP,Incubus have just been a pretty good band for the last 15 years. I would say the greatest band we have today is Chili Peppers(song writing and musical wize). Someone said sick sad little world was hard, try MACHINE GUN!

  • i agree wit u i ould also say the greatest band we have today is the chili peppers

  • yhh iv never stopped loving em

  • Comment removed

  • That's your good right of course :-). In my case that was the record where I finally begun to fully dig what they're creating :-). I love all those songs.

  • hahah

  • slash sucks, what are you talking about. I fking hate Guns N' Roses and Velvet Revolver...both are embarrassments to history.

And I don't know which 'Van' you are referencing, but its either Van Halen, or Van Morrison, then you are still overexaggerating their skill. Van Halen makes me sick, and Van Morrison was decent at best.

  • Good lord, did you even read my comment. Slash and Van Halen are not popular right now, yes, but there skill level is far better than Mike. LotRfan99=asshole, I give a shit about his guitar playing, cuz he plays the fucking guitar. Mike messed up so bad he almost threw of the drummer. Good songs, a little repetitive/boring on guitar thats all, jeez.

  • yes I did read your comment. either A. you yourself don't understand what point you are trying to make, or B. you don't read very well. you said slash was better than mike and could therefore be compared with hendrix. I retorted with "slash sucks." you retorted with "good lord did you read my comment."

and when did he "mess up so bad he almost threw off the drummer"? I didn't once hear the guitar and drums break synchronous rhythm.

  • Right,"slash sucks",Slash and Van Halen did more for guitar in there time, then Mike will ever do. Retorted and retorted, fuck that, and what point? Had your dumass knew how to play guitar you would understand from a musical stand point, My comment STANDS, "compare Slash,Halen,SRV to Hendrix not Mike". He almost,ALMOST, threw of the drummer, fuckin read asshole. I'm not the only one that noticed. And your theory on theory is BS, Y do i argue with Incubus fanboys?

  • yep. "panama, Jump, welcome to the jungle..." great fucking songs. (note i'll point out the sarcasm because you're a fucking ignorant moron) and my point still stands, van halen... garbage. slash...shitty as hell. apparently you still don't get what i'm saying, even though i've written it twice, though i don't know how you don't get it, because apparently you used your telepathic powers to determine that the drummer "almost got thrown off" even though you can't hear a change in beats.

  • p.s. all i heard was a mistake on notes, which everyone, even your precious "slash" made once in a while. fucking dolt.

  • and p.p.s what exactly did slash do for guitar that was so great? slash with the amazing ability to inject loads of heroin and not die. wow good accomplishment. and what did van halen do? besides absolutely nothing?

  • well slash did use the wah pretty heavily on some of his solos so it inspired metal players to use wah in their songs.. I couldn't care less though. Van Halen did have a big impact on fast guitar players due to his style like tapping and heavy whammy usage. Denying that they made no impact is just plain stupid.

  • Slash was a player that brought blues-based stuff back into popularity, Van Halen had a huuuuuuge impact on the guitar playing world by inventing new techniques and playing faster than anyone had ever before! EVH kickstarted the whole shred movement by himself basically, and whether that's a good thing or not, it's a big achievement.

  • you don't know shit about guitar if you think slash and van halen are better than mike. learn jazz guitar and you'll find out what i'm talking about.

  • yea mike owns slash

  • I play jazz. Mike is not a better guitarist, but rather a better songwriter and composer. I doubt he could hold his own in a solo battle with either eddie or slash.

  • mikes technique is better than you think

all slash does is legato and his technique isnt great, but i admit hes got nice bends

  • He has good technique, I don't doubt that...but Eddie started the whole hammeron/off trend, and Slash brought the blues to metal, and Mike plays some jazz influenced ambient swirly noise, which although I love, can't be compared to Slash or Eddie in terms of technique.

  • true true, but imnot really into that kinda thing, playin wise, liek the music though :)

  • I'd say that Jimmy Page originally brought the blues to metal.

  • i too agree you are truly mistaken TCAIWhat, Mike's technique is spot on. You've got to take into account this guy was suffering wtih carpel tunnel and surgery. If you are a true Incubus fan you've heard stuff from Fungus and Enjoy Incubus... Mike plays some amazing fusion style runs in alot of the songs and just rips it. He can totally hang with the big boys.

  • Are you like a guitar surgeon or something because Mike's playing is good. Or maybe you just need to have your brain and your ears fixed because Mike's playing was awesome that it did NOT in anyway threw off Jose.

  • Im sorry but nobody is the jimmy Hendrix of anything. granted Mikes good but how dare u compare him 2 hendrix.

  • i second that, i LOVE incubus and mikes awesome rifts but Hendrix is legend.

  • the biggest difference is that, mike knows the theory behind the music, and can pick apart any chord and give the note names, as well as come up with matching melody.

hendrix, did not know music theory, did not know notes, and still made great songs. however, I do not consider him the best. neither would I consider the chili peppers the best. I can't personally say I have a favorite band, because I just love music in general.

  • oh, this solo was like from another planet... imho mike is jimmy hendrix of 21st century...

  • wtf! you didn't just compare him to hendrix. i must of misread.

  • i did... they are both great musicians with feeling, with fantastic ideas and they are both great at improvisation(ok, hendrix is(was?) better at improvisation)...

  • this guy makes a lot of mistakes and simple songs.

  • yea because "sick sad little world" is simple to play mr. guitar pro.

    dumbass

  • its not mistakes its called improvisation dumb fuck. most good musicians do it.

  • dumb fuck? listen closely you moron. 2:41 you arrogant fuck. don't sit here and tell me what improvisation is.

  • If only he was the man at guitar like you, AGGRESSIVE!

  • Wow, he's human and flubbed a chord. Shocking.

  • mike plays these songs over and over especially being the single. he get bored with the original arrangement, brandon sings songs differently live too. which brings me to my point the chord progressions before 2:41 are not the same ones on the album dr shredz. dumbass.

  • oh my god, i love this band!! they're incredible... but i think, the funny thing is, that a few minutes befor incubus were playing dig, milo ventimiglia was there for interview. and that's also a very very awesome guy! two awesome guys in one show! that's perfect. ;))

  • awesome song, awesome band, AWESOME BRANDON,

this is one of my favorite songs although i think this wasn't their best album

  • his guitar solo was so cool, they should have used that on the record, and jose kicks so much ass!

  • I just love the song

  • I have to say, I really didn't like their new album at first; it sounded like a hollow shell. But then I saw them perform most of it live at the 9:30 club in Washington D.C. and my mind was officially blown. I have seen Incubus a total of four times now, ranging from the very old to the very new, and their new stuff has a depth that their older stuff can't even fathom, it's amazing. The album doesn't do these songs justice, they must be seen live.

  • i pretty much like all the music, different genres for different moods i say

  • Awesome video, shows what a truly amazing voice Brandon has

  • geniall..

  • Im Staring to hate Youtube. They Keep taking off good shit and its pissin me off.

  • Don't blame it on youtube. Blame the music industry.

  • they seriously need a rhythm guitar on that song. or they should turn kilmore's keys up a notch.

  • incubus the best band

1 de mayo viva chile mierda!!

  • he is not merely an idol, he is the complete artist no one would ever conceive, not even dreaming, and fortunately he's on a band with other GREAT musicians. Mike ("love you" man!), Pasillas, Kilmore, Kenney.. They are not a band! They are a huge soul! They're different from everything and their professionalism is surprisingly awesome!! Just hope they keep rockin' it as they usually do! LOVE THEM!

  • Greenday has always been my fave band but I have to admit, I like Incubus almost as equally. The dude can really sing. And btw, he already is an american Idol. He don't need to go on that lame show where people don't really create music..they just sing it..

  • you are right that he is already an idol,i asked that question meaning if he was not singing in the band would he be the idol, but i should have stated this in the question,so thanks:)

  • I think you mean 2/27/2007. Haha

  • oh yeah. thanks dude. i wouldn't have caught that ;)

  • i like this song.. a little diferent of what incubus usually does.. still good :)

  • no....simon would totally love him....he can hold a note for a long time....like in the song "i miss you"

  • i wonder, if brandon boyd auditioned for american idol,do you guys think he could make it?dont get me wrong i am a huge incubus fan,but there is simon you know:)he has the ability to mess with gorgeous voices:S

  • dude I know this is all hypothetical but if he ever tried out for that show I'd lose all respect for him. and even if simon wanted to just be a jackass and say he was "awful" it doesn't matter because his voice is goes great with the music mike jose ben and chris make with him not some shitty pop candy music
