Slayer and Swans were (and still are to this day) and Killing Joke helped create industrial and noise music. Not often that you hear a hook/chorus written in 5/4, let alone in 3 bar phrases of 5/4. Absolutely love this band and this album. Don't waste your time making fun of metal if you're not willing to put this kind of analytical thought into it; this genre was invented by musicians for musicians. Metalheads hate Top 40 for the same reason stand-up comedians hate Dane Cook. And if that analogy doesn't get through to you, you're better off listening to easy, thoughtless, recycled songwriting anyway.
