I'm so sick of this, it mostly happens with videos embedded on articles but the odds are after 2 or 3 years something(copyright claim,video removed by user, account terminated ect) is gonna happen and by this statistic youtube video's will be 50% error messages by 2015!

It really fuckin pisses me off.

ok... I was pissed and ready to give up on youtube myself. I just got a new HP laptop 3/2009. No videos worked but maybe 5%. After turning on all ActiveScript (javascript) options....now all videos work!! yess..!! Seems like someone may have said it affects laptops mainly. If that's true...that may be a security cushion to help protect laptops from threats. Hope this helps someone else!!

Or, you could just turn off the "high quality" setting thats in your account settings. Thats essentially what you did here, but you're doing it manually for every video.

This has been happening to me for 6 months or so. That did not work, I have no clue what to do but it pisses me off. Refreshing does not work, opening a new page does not work, deleting cookies and files does not work, reinstalling java and quicktime does not work.

In your browser, go to tools

Then internet options,

Under Temporary internet files

Click on Delete cookies and also

Click on delete files.

Now close your browser, and open

Your browser again.

That's it, You can watch the videos.
