@DevoidOfFeelings i think that The Trinity is allways sublime, but we just can't see that because we are deceived by our own temptaition.. You have to be a Saint to have the eyes allways clean and to see correct..But we haven't seen the beauty that is with in The Holly Spirit.. Sometimes we think God is bad ,but that's because He's beyond everithing and He suffers no change, no matter what and He want's us to be like Him too.. The changes(the terrible suffering) are caused by sin..God bless all

@melomaniacful Actually, that guy is right. Not to be ignorant at all, but I have studied music theory for a few years and musically, Rachmaninov is well beyond Buddhist chants. In the music itself there are clear differences in the level. But they can both be preformed wonderfully.

But why compare the two, they are two different realms of music, they are good in their own sense. Even though personally I would rather listen to this. :)

Rachmaninov's setting of the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom has been recorded several times. I particularly like the one by the Kansas City Chorale (not a misprint). Their basses are rich and the deacon's parts are sung by an Orthodox priest.
