I found the following instructions in the Read Me file that said how to do it. I used the 7zip option and it worked.

- Use a free program archiver such as 7zip - Right Click on the Example.Gadget, select 7zip -> Extract files... and hit OK (It will extract your Gadget to a sub folder) - Copy extracted Example folder to "%ProgramFiles%\Windows Sidebar\Shared Gadgets" and ADD .Gadgets to the extracted gadget folder's filename

The problem I'm having is that I don't have the gadget installer option on the list. I was able to extract the files manually and paste them in the gadget folder as descibed in another video and a set of online instructions but it still does not work. I was told to try and move the rick files to a different location like program files. I'm waitng for a response on what the rick files are then I'll give it a try. I did successfully install sidebar after viewing this video and another one like it.

Or u can just go to the file and change the name like CPUmeter the u put *.Gadget and then it works fine. It worked with me!!
