Trust me, when the vulcans took off at Waddington, during the Cuban Crisis, it was nothing like that! They took off Three Abreast, and stayed at low level, I was twelve at the time, and standing down way the end of the runway, with a crowd of RAF kids, we just waited for the russian H bomb!
