The game was made by Squaresoft and Nintendo. I think this was supposed to be an Easter egg for the Final Fantasy fans that played the game.

All you need it the lazy shell and lazy armor. You put the lazy armor on peach so she won't die and can heal/revive your members. If you have those 2 items, he isn't hard at all
