  • Awesome job, love your choice of tires and rims, and those fenderwell headers are bitchin ! ! Thanks for bringing back this era mopar to life and sharing with us mopar geeks.

  • @69moparman Thanks a lot for the comment! I knew from the start I wanted to chop open the hood and fenderwells, and the only wheels that would do it all justice would be something like what they ran back in the day. Funny to see people look at it sometimes who see where the headers are going, look into the front wheel well to verify, and then get that confused look - or I get asked all the time why the front and rear wheels don't match...

  • @rocker1210 If you have to explain the tires and rims, well ,,,,,,,,,,, they may not understand, as well they missed an era of drag racing that will not be experienced ever again. You got one awesome Mopar, I will be watching this post quite often in the future. Please post some more, I got to get my old hot rod out and get some new tube videos. Later ..>>>>>>

  • Nice job, well done. LIke the red love to have that engine set up in mine some day.

  • the sound track is AC/DC-Live at Donnington.

  • Oh, spoke too soon. Just saw the time lol. Not bad.

  • 15 sec MOPAR beast?

  • 2:17 Real mans tool chest :D

  • fkn awsome job mate, wish i could do that

  • @wossels87 Thanks very much - I didn't know how much work I was in for when I started and learned much by doing on this car.

  • @rocker1210 Exactly all my thoughts after my first rebuild.

  • beautiful car. nice work. i hate to nit-pick, but you need to do something about those air cleaner studs - unless you plan to fly a flag on them. they seem a little long?

  • @bigbob48 Yep - good call - I actually just chopped them down a couple of weeks ago. Looks much better.

  • Man you make my eyes sweat...cause real men dont cry...AWESOME magnificent, gourgeous overhaul, at first I´d think that was a joke...but man what a sweet ride loco!.

  • Second to none craftsmanship. I have a 65 2dr post Im restoring. In Upstate NY it was in similar starting condition. Where did you source the sheet metal? I have front floor pans, but will need to source or repair the upper and lower quarters.

    Again great work, gorgeous result.

  • @Shott17 Thanks a lot! I got my sheet metal from autobodyspecialt - best prices I could find at the time and they were good. Best of luck with your project!

  • Muy buen auto, te felicito hermano, ojala aqui en peru tuvieramos esa facilidad de conseguir esos motores :)

  • very cool, ive always liked these old mopars, i especially like the look with the torque thrusts and steelies in back, what does it run at the track?

  • Very nice work.

  • very nice car-tastefully done-like the cragars/black rims on a red car! lots of hard work paid off here. nuthin' like a big block at full song goin' down the road! good luck with your fine ride. oh,btw, drive the wheels off of it!

  • oh man,the car is amazing, and what a great job you did..

  • Bro rollcage that bad boy

The weld you did was amazing ,damn good .that was way to far gone for me to redo but you wanted it badly and you did it ,thats impressive.

The cam sound different whats the lobe seperation about 110degress 112

  • @sideshow1701 It's a 110 LSA -- getting ready (next couple of months anyway, to swap out the 308R (262 @ .050 .575/.575) for the Comp "Extreme" 292/286. I think less duration will help my bottom end with this set up. Anyway, thanks a lot for the comments - it was a huge job and I don't know that I'll do one like that again any time soon...never know...

  • @sideshow1701 less duration will help the bottom but if you run steeper gearset ,should balance the cam out .check the distributor to see what the total advance is.

whats yur max RPMs that you run on the motor?

The idle on your motor is sweet tone with the 110 lobe seperation ,

  • man that brings back memories. my first car was a 65 dodge coronet 440 with a 318. had it for a year then my dad got me a 74 nova 4 door. gave the coronet to my bro. and in less than a year he and a friend drove it in to a tree. toatle loss. every body was ok. I wish I still had the coronet. was a fun car. the guy with the purple coronet in theese vid. that's the body style I had. thanks for the memories. and have fun with the new toy.

  • shes drop dead gorgeous... i would pay you to let me wash her

  • Oh man, absolutely love it. Never thought I could appreciate a Mopar so much. I must say this car is beautiful.

  • Hey man love the car bud how much horsepower you think its pushing does it have a mild cam or just .30 over im asking cuz im building one this is the first time i build a 440 its also .30 i went with 440 source aluminum heads, purple shaft 292/509 cam aluminum rockers, srp pistons, edelbrock rpm performer intake, hedman headers, and an 850 holley dbl pumper a 727 3-speed 3000 stall with shift kit, just wana c where i stand in performance AWESOME CAR thank you in advance i appreciate it ur HELP

  • oh bro badass my friend ima chevy guy and even i got wood, badass tunnel ram, is that a 440 or a stroked 440, lol u have more balls then me pal drum brakes, none power, with a big block oh boy id hate to see ur life insurance bill lol all jokin aside ive always loved the coronets and the first chargers, u need a strait axel on that monster, id love to see that thing whipe the floor with some hondas, hell ill chip in for gas lol two 4's ona big block, 7, 8 mpg worth it, thanks for the smiles

  • @chevyguy434 -- Hey thanks a lot man! It's a stock stroke 440 (+.030) and I don't know but 7-8 mpg is probably optimistic... I did put discs on the front though and that helps tremendously - the stock front drums were dangerous at best! I agree about the straight axle, maybe one day if I ever turn it into a real drag car. Really appreciate the comments.

  • Hey, I am friends with you neighbor Cathy. She sent me the info about a car that you were building next door to her... I must say.. I am impressed! One does not see many '65 Coronet's any more! You have done a very nice pain staking job on this one! I have enjoyed the video's that you have put on here. I am ex-Navy and hope to visit your next door neighbor some time soon! I am also a car guy, I have a '64 GTO, tri power, 4-speed. Parents bought it new. Hope to meet you some day! Eric

  • @Eric64gto

Thanks a lot, Eric! She told me she's got a few pictures of your car, so I'll have to check them out. Thanks a lot for the comment - look forward to meeting you some time. Take care.

  • thats great! lookin forward for my first quarter at june 20th....goal is a 13...we will see

  • @paulinski2007 Good luck!

  • Hell of a car! Damn......Big Compliment from here....what time does it run on the quarter?

  • @paulinski2007 12.58 best so far, but since then, I've degreed/advanced the cam, tuned the carbs, and made some changes to the timing. Waiting for a chance to get to the track, but I think a very low 12 or high 11 is very possible.

  • Wicked ride.

  • Im more of an import guy but i know when i see sexy and just MEAN POWER!

  • very nice, love the magnaflow, sounds better than flowmasters.they sound like your in drain pipe

  • Nice,nice,nice.Great job.Mopar or no car.

  • If I cleaned it off it would, but I like to just leave it there since more is just going to end up there anyway.

  • @rocker1210 ok thanks

  • man your coronet is the most badass mopar i ve ever seen.Good job!How many horsepower does it have?

  • Thanks a lot! I don't know how much power it's making, but best MPH in the 1/4 so far is 112 MPH (3000 ft elevation and 85 deg) at a weight of 3700# with me in it.

  • woah id say he might 850hp

  • Hats off for your owesome work!Love that car!MOPAR or no car!!!

  • Thanks a lot!!

  • OH yea, Awesome job on the video!

  • Great job man! I'm doing somthing simmilar with a 64' polara, where did you get those fenderwell headers?? Also, check out the Chevy C-10 that i put a 440 in on my page.

  • I got them from Summit Racing, part number D440. Thanks for the compliment!

  • you put alota hard work into that car and anyone who is willing to put that much work into a car like that, deserves one

  • Hey, thanks a lot!

  • I also have a 65. What size tire do you have on the back?

  • It's just a 275/60-15 BFG drag radial. Just picked up a set of MT drag radials...

  • holy shit this thing came out exactly the way i want mine to come out!, i'm doing a 65 as well, i wanted to put a Hemi in it but its gonna take too long to find parts and way too much money!, very nice man, how many cubic inches is that motor?, and what kind of trans did you go with?

  • Thanks very much. It's a 440 with a solid roller cam, 10.33:1 compression, and the trans is a 727 built with Hughes parts and a reverse manual valve body. Good luck with your build.

  • Wow, I didn't know it started out like that! Awesome work man..

  • Thanks a lot! It's been a ton of work, but I have really learned a lot. Thanks for the comment.
