  • i made this...a beter version of this

  • it is awesome

  • To make this a little faster you could have it go to the center position after each gumball is released, or would that cause problems and slow it down?

  • cool

  • Coolcoolcoool.... Einfach nur cool

  • cool

  • How did you make this?

  • OCD, because you need organization.

  • hmz mh i really want to find a cool guy who wants to chat with me

  • TETRIS??

  • Nobody cares about the science behind it. Its made of lego. LEGO!

  • Why so many views? It's a simplistic Mindstorms machine...

  • is it easy to build these things?

  • think, that´s a fake

  • @JuMa2906 think, ur dumb

  • nice, unlike other machines this one is much faster. but in the end it doesnt matter cause they all taste the same, dont they?

  • search for "gaffelmaster" and check out my school project

  • this could be used in factories!

    ask a factory bubkas22

  • wow

  • u cheated at end lol

  • unreal!

  • Great!!! (:

  • it brought me the idea of building a robot for playing Connect Four (Captain's mistress)

  • Wow you're really good!!

  • can u post the program and building instructions?

    PLZ???

  • Cool!

    - I can made the gumball sorter too!

    - How to program it?

    - :D of course i can program

  • can you give me programing???

    P.S PLEASE

  • dude i wanna buy it

  • All you need now is a lego machine that sorts your dirty to clean underwear. I guess it will be hard because probaly all of your underwear are dirty by those shitting moments when you are fucked up in programming :P

  • seriously everyone needs to get this =D. I had 2 packs of Lego Mindstorms RIS before NXT, and its so easy to program. Im have no clue in programming and i made some preety amazing stuff

  • EP1C W1N

  • nice

  • Really good. Very fast too compared to other colour sensing sorters I've seen.

    Well done

  • OMG EPIC

  • easy!

  • can ppl giv me 300 $ so i can buy a nxt midstorm pack??? LOL JK

  • In the future everything will be made out of lego.

  • I can do that...

  • I am interested but i don't have one.

  • Ha! Very neat my friend!

  • cool! :D

  • do you have to like code it plz respond?

  • You DO have to program the robots you build using Mindstorms NXT, but is very easy if you use the lego software. It comes with a tutorial and help tips and such...... You honestly don't really do any technical stuff, you just drag and drop. :]

    Hope this helped.

  • That was cool. Lego Mindstorm creations are so awesome. Hey what do you think is better rcx or nxt.

  • NXT. Reasons:

    Has bluetooth.

    More accurate.

    Easier to build.

  • and easy program tools

  • does any1 know how to get a web download into the lego nxt databade software please help

  • I am sure professional gumball sorting machines are way faster, this one is geared towards a younger crowd;) cool stuff!

  • this is great!

i cant stand chewing red gum and blue gum and getting brown gum.

  • awsome and indgienus yes, but impractial( if you bought a sorting machiene you would want your stuff sorted fast, other wise iyou could do it by hand!), but also a great idea! keep creating!

  • who cares? it takes three minutes which could otherwise be used making coffee of getting something to eat lol

  • dude its lego. how could it be fast >.>

  • Wicked! :)

  • That makes me hungry.... DAMN YOU!!!

  • @MC3craze roflmao

  • I love it!

  • it was color and light sensor. Wow, who doesnt know.

  • Nice job. Maybe you can add a counter wich tells the robot to sound an alarm if one pocket of the cargoseld is full. ( if you havn´t done it allready :) 5/5

  • AWESOME! Or you could of ate them all and made a huge buble and put that on youtube

  • ahah lol

  • AWESOME

  • Thats awesome =] isn't there a colour sensor though? Might be easier than the light sensor?

  • you do realise that colours are just light at specific wavelengths?

  • @whereisbob Why would that make it any simpler?

  • @TiesWijnen u missed the point, all im saying is its really quite simple for a light sensor to disdinguish between different colours, its nothing special.

  • Wow. Or you can just eat them all

  • very cool. probobly more practicle to do it with your hands though

  • Why use your hands to sort when you can just build a machine to do it for you?

  • Awesome, now the best part... TO EAT THE GUMBALLS!

  • how can you get the plate to move left and right

  • motors you idiot.

  • awesome!!

  • That's pretty awesome.

I'm just curious though; how does the machine extract the gumballs from the random bunch of the you put in the yogurt cup?

  • It's some kind of eye or something.

  • OMFG! you idiots have no brains! Its a damn light sensor,no seriously DOOdproductions,an eye?wow you idiot.

  • oooOOOOooo its pertty, i want one!

  • good use of the light sencer!

  • what cant you do with this thing nxt

  • fly into space. =)

  • ahhh wrong, they actually sent several nxts to the limits of outer space, they strapped them to balloons and the robots took pictures and videos :D. there is a video on yt about it :P

  • you don't know that....:I

  • lol

  • cool!

how long did that take to make and program?

  • is that really possible because i thought that the nxt light sensor shot out a red light and it responds to red & white as the same thing

  • - wii9997

i think it's infrared but i could be wrong

  • where can i get one of those NXT robots?!?

  • yea it sucks when people do that

  • you like yellow?

    barely anyone likes yellow lol

i prefer red or purple :D

  • Very good, efficiency isnt maxed though. You could time the movement of the platform so that it moves into place right as the gumball reached the bottom of the last red chute. As well, somehow increase the speed at which it analyzes the color and reacts. I could see it sorting all 40 of those in less than 2 minutes, even as low at 1min. Good job however, nice creative idea and good use of the functions the NXT has to offer.

  • cool and all but wat would u eva use it for i mean unless ur blind and only like idk blue gum balls or something

  • its cool

    Just a question though

did you happen to set it to a unigue order then drop the bubble gum in on a certain order so the machine moves it to the part releases the piece or is it useing a light sensor to check the colour

  • check the description. It's the light sensor

  • good question i was thinking that!

  • cool but pointless

  • great work!

  • awesome

  • damn nice...

  • I'd really like one of these for jellybeans, but modified so it groups them into everything else, and black :) Just kidding the black ones are alright. I'm hoping to get NXT for chrissie.

  • OMFG!

  • how exzacklt did u make tis

    ?

  • i hope them lego are clean i dont want anyone to get sick

  • good job! moving the sorting tray instead of the sorting machine is a neat solution. thanks for posting.

  • ok WOW

  • that's realy cool!

  • this is really sweet.

  • Hahahaha I get it unless you weren't trying to make a pun, in that case I look really stupid.

  • Welldone =). Absolutely amazing :)

  • sweet

  • Awesome, but it's slow.

  • did you bought more "nxt pieces", or used only those that come with the package?

  • does it recognize colors???

  • yes, it has a light sensor

  • That was fantastic. I'm just starting a robot club with my kids. We aspire to such creativity. Well done.

  • no one cares. jk! that was really neat!

  • wow that is sweet!

  • cool

  • u rly have alot of time on ur hands

    lol

    nice....

  • wow lame

  • can u give me the instructions and the program please?

  • how long did it take?

  • wow thats pretty neat but you must have loads of money

    Just for gumballs

  • Gee, if everyone thought like you did, we would sure have a lot of progress in the world.

  • very nice!!

  • i liccked the screen.

    ME LUV GUMBALLS!

  • u should make robot to put the gumballs into the bucket:-)

    nice work.

  • my b i read the description after the first comment srry

  • dude thats cool, did u use just a regular light sensor?

  • LoL WoW 5\5

  • very cool

  • do u have 2 program it and plz how much does mindstorm cost

  • thats a light sensor or color sensor?

  • Must be color sensor. But it does look like a light sensor. I think that he is controlling it from the computer or something similar

  • if you read the describtion it said "using light sensor"

  • Mindstorm NXT has a light sensor, but based on the darkness it detects color as well.

  • sweet,

  • Wow awesome!!! 5/5 wonder if anyone could make a lego coffee maker?

  • lol thatd be kool

  • lol if it did id buy 1 (looks evrywere for 1)

  • awesome!

  • can u make this with 1 set of lego mindstorms?

  • no, all those red bricks aren't in the mindstorm set... and also not enough allternative's... would be cool tough x)

  • pretty cool, has a lot of parts that dont look like they do anything =p, looks cool though =], i made a rubiks cube sorter but ill admit this looks mroe complexed

  • omg thats awesome!!!!!! Im gettin that 4 my b-day, and u gotta tell me how 2 do that

  • not very useful, but good job on building&programming

  • at least he does not talk crap about people on youtube all day nice vid btw

  • AND THE WINNER IS WHITE!!

  • white always wins ^^

  • eek...

  • i made a racing wagon for school in a local school battle with mindstorms, and it used also lasers to figure out the way this stuff is awesome!

  • nice job

  • Cool!

  • Please understand that the Origami computer is folded from scratch from rectangular sheets of card stock (paper) with no cuts or glue ! ! !

  • This sorter is quite quick. Nice work

  • I really like this! I think too many people don't know how hard it is to make a robot.

  • Nice job.

  • how did you get it to sense colors?

  • there is a color sensor in the lego mindstorms nxt set that he used

  • There is a color sensor made by HiTecnic

  • lol there well good they only american?

  • Nice doing that with just light sensor (not color sensor). I always have a hard time getting the light intensity values right for different colors.

  • Actually, HiTechnic makes color sensors... He probably used one of them

  • wow. that's amaizing you are a genius!!

  • Can any1 help me. I dont know which bag of pieces i should use to build my tribot. PLZ MESSEGE ME!

  • LoL. I love the ending with the last yellow gum ball. Hahaha.
