Von letzten beidem ist vermutlich die Bezeichnung Metal abgeleitet, da die Saiten eben aus Metall bestehen.

Wie dem auch sei, wenn man Haarspalterei betreibt kann man darüber Streiten, ob van Canto nun Metal machen, oder nicht. Die Typischen Instrumente fehlen zwar, aber sie werden durch Stimme ersetzt, und stilistisch ist das eher Metal als irgendetwas anderes, A Capella Metal eben...
