  • Favorite band is The Chieftains I have seen them live twice in concert. Huge celtic music fan, and Elvis Costello just rocks. The song is beautiful too. I was just watching the documentary My Reincarnation and it made me actually think of this song. It has an odd connection somehow, but to me it shows how the world is connected from Ireland to Tibetan Buddhist. strange but true. myreincarnationfilm. com/screenings/screenings-calendar/

  • To KeshHarp. Your day is not coming. It's past. The world, this country, and most sane Irish people have moved on.

  • A day in Paradise would be a trip from Belfast to Derry without a care in the world... without brit occupation of the six counties...Tiocfaidh ar la !

  • ...will be a long journey finding the dvd... i guess it improves the movie experience :)

  • Is that Bono?

  • It's Elvis Costello.

  • Elvis Costello with The Chieftains and the Anuna choir, singing "Long journey home-Anthem".

  • Thank you for this, very nicely done. I love the song (I have the Chieftains CD it's on) as well as the Monterey Peninsula/Big Sur area (I attended the Defense Language Institute in Monterey in'85-'86).

  • The Long Journey Home came about from the Irish in America Project. Paddy Maloney put together a CD of 'The Journey'

Hope you find it. Cheers Mick

  • Thanks for this video, it's very well done. I love the song (have the CD it's on), and I love the area there (I attended the Defense Language Institute in the 80's). Thanks for putting the two together!
