  • mother fucker the file was not found on gamefront idiot

  • link is broken

  • it said vista can not install, it is the 512 MB one and i only have 256. thats what it said. do u got another link. plz and thx.

  • plz re upload the file PLZZ

  • vista is shit anyway.

  • @preludefan i love vista

  • @preludefan you are shit. only power users are allowed to have an opinion.

  • @nelizmastr suck my dick faggot, you dont know what a power user is if you use fista go back to playing sim city.

  • @preludefan fail 1: fista. not a word. fail 2: sim city is not a bad game, so thats more of a compliment, instead of an insult. fail 3: telling someone to suck the dick of a person that clearly doesnt have one.

  • @nelizmastr sounds like you have no life.

  • @preludefan fail 5. go on, the more useless things you say, the worse youre making it,

  • @nelizmastr oh yeah, there goes that "fail" shit that 15 year old e thuggers use as an attempt to insult people- get a fucking life vista is a shit operating system, it hasnt and never will have dick on xp or 7, sim city if for limp wristed fags with no actual life of their own, i guess your going to tell me that justin bieber is not a bad singer now? move on mr "vista sim city power user"

  • @preludefan ive never read a comment that made less sense. even derp means more to me.

  • @nelizmastr that figures.

  • @preludefan indeed. you just owned yoursef. gratz.

  • @nelizmastr and you tell me my comments dont add up? you cant even spell, its stupid programs like vista that make it easy for idiots like you who cant even spell to use computers, keep on with your tit for tat shit, im onto more important things than conversing with you, like taking a shit.

  • @preludefan Epic Fail no. 2.

  • Are you running Aero with 256 MB of RAM? o_O

  • The link doesn't work

  • FIleFront dl doesn't work.. Says the file is unavailable =l

  • are you sure this would work cause i really need to install windows vista on my pc and i have only 1gb and and half of rams

  • um ur pc meets the vista requirements , you can skip this

  • I think Windows xp is the best but if you want to play newer game you should have windows 7 or vista because the newer Games wants directX 10

    Sorry for my bad english

  • Cool Video! Do you know if you can run 4gigs of ram on Windows Vista 32 bit OS

  • You cant its a limitation of 32-bit software. it can only address around 3.5GB of RAM. the only way to use all 4GB is to upgrade to a 64-bit version of windows

  • @hodgy100

or you can install Windows 2008 Enterprise 32-bi

  • yes but it will show up as 2gigs (it will really be 4gigs though)

  • Yes, If you upgrade to service pack 1.

  • no need to add this gay music!

  • Comment removed

  • Does this works for windows 7?

  • The recommended minimum for Vista is 2GB, because It's so resource hungry (I recommend 3GB from personal experience), but people have gotten Vista to run under 48MB.

  • if you guys want windows vista so much why don't you just buy it like everyone eles!

  • I do own a license to home premium, just wanna speed it up!!

  • dude ur video is last year and the damn link is not wrking so yea

  • on that link that is on the forum (download link for winsetup.dll) there is no file winsetup to download !!!

  • I have vista home pre sp2 on a core 2 duo 2 hz with 4 gbs of ram will this speed it up?

  • just a barely noticeable increase

  • This wont help speed it up much but i will send you a video that will speed it up.

  • The download link is broken please fix!

    it recredits me to file.front!

  • i have 3GB of ram. why don't they make better RAM or a fast CPU. it would be awesome if they made a Terabyte of RAM, or a CPU with 1000 gigahertz. lol

  • you can have a TB of ram and a combined rating of 1 THZ in a cluster though expect to pay a fortune

  • thats why. a terabyte hard drive costs...what? $100

  • THANKS DUDE......IT WORKS PERFECT!!! I HAVE NVIDIA GEFORCE 5200gt AND AERO THEME WORKS PERFECTLY

  • wth is this? is this video for recovering 256lossram for vista ?

  • Hey! wait my classmate said vista has 2GB ram?

  • u rock u rock u rockkkkkkkkkkkkkkk it worked i love u!!

  • You can use vista if you have just USB stick but the problem If you don't have enough video card memory T__T

  • we can use the extreme edition too!

  • hey how do u use the readyboost feature on vista??

  • Maybe Vista will work...but will AERO also work?

  • I have an idea. Ill install vista on my (other) shittie computer with only 192mb of ram (using your technique) and then ill strip it down with vLite and get a cheap 4gb usb stick and use the readyboost feature to keep it up to speed! =D

  • will this work on windows XP pro version 2002 SP3?THX

  • it doesnt work with xp sp3 wtf?

  • That's obvious... Vista isn't XP. ;)

  • but how do i get the disc on my hardrive?,,,because it wont let me copy the file to vista boot CD????? HELP!?!?!?!?!?

  • How come the music was changed in this video?

  • Hey, it's not necessary to copy the DVD files to a flash drive, goto vLite and when it copy the files

just go to the folder where vLite copied files, and then copy the patched "winsetup.dll" to that folder.

so then vLite will copy Windows files and the patched winsetup. (it will make it bootable)

    Good video :)

  • ****to a bootable DVD

  • Actually, in my case, I had to use a flash drive. The laptop I used didn't have a DVD drive...

    Thanks!

  • wow thats not alot of ram

  • do you instal win xp on 486 100mhz 64ram and work

  • i have windows vista ultimate lite 5 on my pc but i can active the windows aero in my pc !!

    why not ?

  • my windows vista only has 896 =( so i need to atleast upgrade a bit

  • You need to get at least 2GB of RAM... ;)for Vista that is...

    :)

  • nice but i got 8 GB of Ram

  • Nice amount of RAM. Hope your running 64-Bit with that, or if it's on a Mac... ;)

  • Another person bragging.

Yeah, I hope you're running 64-Bit with that, or it'll cause Errors appearing. (Only use 3.5gb ram on certain Areas... never 4GB+)

  • i didnt even think people still used 256mb of ram anymore. dont even waste your time with vista. UPGRADE your fucking HARDWARE. 1-2 gig

  • Haha, you don't have to upgrade. I still have a 256MB of RAM PC (laptop), and I use it with Linux everyday... As long as your running an OS where it doesn't consume a lot of memory, your fine... And running Vista with 256MB of RAM is not recommended... Not even with 1GB is recommended by a lot of people... I'm using about 1.2GB right now. But I have lots of apps open... ;)

  • I use ram bus which costs an arm and a leg to buy yet runs at 1066 compared to 506 of normal ram, yet when I try to emulate it on VPC I cant cause of the lack of ram.

  • amaizing i have 2048, haha :D

but this windows is so fast :O

  • If you used the patch, it would install it fine. But I'm warning you, it's slow with 256mb of RAM, 192mb is just literally pushing it... ;)

  • wow I have 768mb.

  • 5/5

i have to agree that 2gb in not although to at times (gaming)

thank you i enjoyed watching this ;-)

  • Thanks!

Yes, 2GB of RAM cannot be enough. But sometimes we want to see if Windows can actually run with the minimum. ;)

  • I just don't get who in their right mind would want to even install vista with less than 1GB of RAM.. even if it's possible, xp offers better performance for crappier PCs.

  • Yeah, but it's just fun to do. I've really never used any computer for more than an hours with 256mb of RAM and with Vista...

  • theres no point runnin vista with 256mb of ram..

  • Haha, that is true. But it is always fun to try. ;)

  • i dont think so...

anyway iv got 1gb oof ram.

  • doesnt work at all

  • This video is a response to another of my videos. It works perfectly, I've proven it...

  • Hi I have a Dell Dimension 8200 PC with the following Specs:

    120gb Hard Drive

    64MB NVIDIA GeForce 3 Ti200 Graphics Card

    256mb RDRAM

    Intel Pentium 4 Processor

This machine runs the ful version of Windows Vista Home Premium really fast as if it was running on 2gb RAM! The only thing that does not work is my sound Driver because when I install it it keeps on bringing up a blue screen and crashes (Restarts) and every time it restarts it brings up the blue screen and restarts again!

  • There's an issue where compatiblilty comes into play. If you get the BSOD (blue screen of death), it's usually caused by a hardware failure. For you it's your sound card... I would find exactly what your sound card is, google it in the following way, "**Sound Card Title/Model #** in Vista"...

It's great that it's running fast for you!

  • the link doesn't work

  • Uhm, it works perfectly for me... What link specifically for you isn't working?

  • Will it work on 192MB? I have 64 set to shared graphics card.

  • I would believe so. It deletes the memory check completely. But, I'll warn you, it will be slow... :) Even with stripping it down with VLite. If you doing this for a fun, great! If it's going to be your main OS, I don't recommend that... For that computer, I would run a small version of Linux on it. Like PuppyLinux... :)

  • Yes, it will be my main OS but I plan on installing 4GB of RAM (the max it supports) into the machine within a month. I currently use a machine with 384MB of RAM with Windows Vista Ultimate, it runs fine, but no AERO. I wonder if it would be much slower with only 192MB of RAM.

  • Thanks!

Yeah, some BSOD's cane happen. But if you find a way to get all the drivers, it should work fine...

  • Thanks. That was helpful. ;)

I'll maybe try soon to put Vista on my Acer TravelMate 290 with Pentium M 1,4GHz CPU, 240MB RAM and 30GB HDD. =]

  • Your welcome! Yeah, Vista would run find on that machine if you get rid of some things with vLite. ;) You should get some more RAM though. You're specs are not that bad, actually. You could use it for everyday computing... XP is faster than Vista though... :)

  • actually it's 256MB of RAM on his pc, it's the lowest you can get, it's just some is used for system itself...

    you can get a comp in 256, 512, 756, 1024, 1280, 1536, 1792, 2048, etc

  • ok i try it soon. Thanks

  • Welcome.

  • works with sp1?

  • I have not tested it with SP1 yet; but in reality, it should. Because SP1 just has some modified files, the installer files are not changed much. I just put in my Vista Ultimate CD SP1, and winsetup.dll is still there. It should work! Just compared the two files (my Home Premium, and Ultimate SP1 DVD's), and they are the same file. All checked out lee021021! It should work!

  • i am still comfuse im stuck with the part of th winrar

  • Download Winrar (link in YouTube description). Then extract the file. And overwrite it with the one in the sources folder. ;) Then, run the setup file in the main directory on the computer with 256mb of RAM, or what ever amount you have... Or, if you did this on a different computer (one with more ram for a example), you'll have to move the files over with some form of media. ;)

  • hey have you alredy isntalled it

  • Yes, I already installed it... It was done a while back... This video is a response to that one. ;)

  • Wow.. You Wrote A Nice Story.. Or Movie.. but Nice Work.. I Hope that Will Work.. anyway Thank You Very Much About This Tutorial/Video :)

  • Thank you very much. It worked for me a while back. ;)

  • wait this is to installed windows vista to xp i have 382 ram capacyty i wiil still work

  • Yes, it'll work with 382MB of RAM. Actually, it should work with any amount of RAM...

  • it will still have the readyboost feature after you install vista right?

  • Yes, it will still have the readyboot feature. That is, if you have Windows Ultimate...

  • i dnt understand wut 2 do i downloaded the file and the vista file i have is an ISO file when i use vlite it tells me the files arent where i put them help plz i dnt understand wut to do w the file u had me download do i burn my ISO file and the .dll file onto a cd-rom and how do i do that

  • Well first of all, having a ISO of a Vista proves to me that your copy is most likely not retail, and you probably did not buy it. But, I will help you anyways. You have to extract the ISO you have, then put the DLL file into the \Sources directory of the CD-Rom. In other words, extract all the files of that ISO (WinRAR can do that), replace the DLL with this one in the Sources folder of the extracted ISO, then move these files to the computer with 256mb of RAM. Hope this helps you.

  • ur tutorial may be the smallest, but man u walk with the giants, good job 5 stars on me

  • You can see everything fine; so it's not that big of a deal. Thanks genjikaka for the great rating! :)

  • np it was worth my time
