@genxxxersize I agree with you that not everyone are bums and junkies at soup kitchens. I used to go there for good food ... and play music with my mate. There are people who aren't homeless who go to soup kitchens. Families even. But there are some real bad folks who go too.

This really big guy who looked like a serial killer dropped this HUGE Rambo knife out of his sleeve. I picked it up, dusted it off, and handed it back to him. He said "Thanks." I said No problemo." Life went on. Attitude goes a long ways, you know?

@genxxxersize I used to make dinner for this guy pulling shit out of the dumpster behind my place of employment. We started talking eventually, and I found he was a very nice guy. He started crying and said he was never in this position B4. He lost his job, his house, and was now homeless. I recommended some resources to get help. Suddenly he disappeared for about 6 mos.

@genxxxersize After 6 mos. he showed up at my work in a suit &tie and thanked me for my help. He said he hooked up with a pastor dude, &was off the street and working again. We had one homeless dude living with us too. He was slightly mentally handicapped from falling off a building &landed on his head. Massive brain trauma. It was amazing he didn't die. He was homeless from a divorce. He has a place now, but always comes over for eats &holidays. He reminds me of Kramer from Seinfeld, lol!

@genxxxersize Anyway, I guess I'm agreeing with you. Not all homeless are sleaze. Very interesting stories out there. I even met a homeless stock broker. Used to be super rich, but he went a little off kilter when he got a divorce and lost everything. He goes to soup kitchens wearing one shoe and one slipper, and like to pee on the streets. Kinda' sad. Got lots of stories.

@genxxxersize My friend got shot with a bullet dipped in fermented garlic by his cracked up whore of a sister and her crackhead boyfriend. Nearly crippled but keeps trying to walk. He was homeless too. But WHAT a PHILOSOPHER and POET! I was trying to get him to write a book but he seems to have given up on success in that area. Still a heck of a nice guy.

@gmccord1970 Well of course they are. That's what happens when there is an industrial reserve army of labour. Employers could pay some employees as little as 4 dollars per hour. In fact, if the labour market was opened even further there are people who could arguably improve their position by working in the US for 2 dollars per hour. That's not an argument against minimum wage though. Just because you can do something doesn't mean that you should.
