  • Frida is like a shy and brainy librarian that can't contain her wild spirit when she hits the dance floor and surprises everyone with her talent and boldness. Just so funny and cute.

  • Possibly the best Lindy performance in a competition ever! Like others have mentioned, I never get tired of watching it.

  • This is, and possibly always will be, my favorite dance video of all time.

  • Meeee too

  • This is brilliant! Does anyone know any good artists I can search for for this type of music too?

  • Cat and the fiddle

  • This song is 24 robbers by Fats Waller

  • AMAZING!!!! I love it!

  • Total class! Can watch this over and over and still see something new...

  • Agreed. What I see here is real love for the song, the dance and for each other. Genuine affection, which I think is missing in most showcase routines.

  • They demonstrated that you can win first place in an Ultimate Lindy Hop Showdown without aerials! Amazing dancing! I've watched this over and over and I never get tired of it.

  • I can't get enough of this...I keep coming back to it every couple of months just to get a refresher on really classy Lindy.

  • This is indeed a timeless work of art.

  • akboehmer: right on

  • I look back on this routine now and see it as a palate cleanser for the lindy scene at that time...this was simple(but really very intricate) soft and effervescent with no "power moves" or in your face choreography...so nice...

  • As always: Just amazing!

  • What song is that?

  • Twenty-four robbers by Fats Waller

  • Super! Into my favorit video!

  • They did a very similar performance at the 2006 US Open Showcase and I liked that one much better. They not only had the musicality but the attention to asthetics (orientation, lines, posture, etc) as well.

  • I'd love to learn how to dance like that. I just don't know where to start! :(

  • hit up all the local dance compnys and such, look in the yellow pages, search online in your area on google maps, there's lots of ways to Find a coach. Just make sure that he/she knows what their doing. That done work hard, practice at least 2 hours for every 1 hour of practice (I would say 5 but that's hard for people to swallow) and find a dedicated partner (the hardest thing for sure) and don't give up when the going get's hard!

I've been dancing for 3 years now and love it!

  • Search for beginning lindy hop. Or look up lindy hop on idance. Charleston provides an influence on Lindy Hop too, so you might want to learn that if you want solo routines. .

  • what kind of shoes is he wearing?

  • i think he may just be wearing some flat white sneaks., he doesnt seem to slide at all. probably just some worn in rubber bottom sneaks. it kinda looks like she is wearing a form of chucks too

  • He is wearing Van sneakers.

  • maybe, Aris Allen? =)

  • Amazing performance - sublime, expressive, and musical. No gimmicks or flash -

    Absolutely fantastic...

  • And that is exactly what makes the performance great. They're not trying to awe with big flash and puffs of smoke.

Aerials impress non-dancers far far more than they impress dancers. This performance is mind-blowing because of its musicality.

  • The more I watch it, the more beautiful it gets. And that's the best kind.

  • So sweet, so cute, so relaxed, so beautiful... sigh.. speechless

  • I agree as well. This choreography (and execution of it) really captures why I love Lindy Hop. Its absolutely beautiful and amazingly musical.

  • Ak,

I totally agree - it's so simple, without lacking creativity: it's sincere - beautiful because it's not trying too hard

  • it doesn't get better than this..relaxed, joyous, easy energy, ingenious choreography, yet simple and vernacular...freaking beautiful...

  • What's the title of the song? I'd guess it's by Fats Waller.

  • Song is by Fats Waller. Title is "Twenty-Four Robbers". Enjoy =)

  • I love it.
