I think the mom wants attention and feel loved since her husband did not love her and her kids and he left. so i think she wants everyone to love her and her son etc she just wants attention instead of getting her son help.

And if you watched the previous clip of the video, you would see that the mother, contrary to the doctor's instructions (the dark haired one who had a discussion with the English doctor), brought Jambik to a department in a facility which didn't have the knowledge to make such a medical decision, but in which they pronounced the boy healthy and encouraged him to do sumo wrestling.
