extremely nice truck!! i had one just like it 4" lift 5sp manual two tone green and white... dumbest thing ive ever done was sell it to a guy to turn into a welding truck now its probably beat to a pulp
Thesystem46... Man somebody played mean ass trick on you when they told you all that bullshit... Unless you just straight up made the shit up. Hell, my first truck was a 1986 F250 4x4 with a 6.9, an ATS turbo and a four speed
Merlin235... I hate to be the bearer of bad news but you not gonna find a powerstroke any older than a 2008 with a factory twin turbo set up cause they simply didnt make em. The 6.4 is the only engine with a compound setup. Seeing as how this is probably news to you, i would suggest tryin to find yourself a nice little Toyota car
i asked myself " cna this guy be this dense ..... when you wrote this reply you proved it beyond any doubt ...i have one sitting in my driveway with a 7.3 turbo diesel ... f250 super cab 7.3l 4x4 diesel from the factory asi is ...what a maroon LOL
@TheSystem46 Are you serious? Ford trucks have come with diesel engines from the factory for decades. 6.9 IDI, 7.3 IDI, 7.3 Powerstroke, 6.0 Powerstroke, 6.4 Powerstroke, and 6.7 Powerstroke. All were made by International except the 6.7... And no, YOU are the dumbass dont post comments on topics you know nothing about
How's the ride with those Superlift lift springs? I've been looking for a similar stance for my '96 f250, but I don't want to alter the ride too much. A tad rougher is ok but I'd like to keep it about stock.
@big90burb My truck rides like shit, I do not recommend these lift springs. A company called Sky Performance makes a RSK kit (reverse shackle kit). That kit uses your same front springs and puts the shackle in the rear so energy doesn't have to travel to the rear spring eye bolt, then back to the stock shackle out in front. TMK, Superlift drop down brackets will need to be used if you have a TTB(Dana 50) like mine. I think Rough Country may make those same brackets as well.
@mrpattyjohnson - Ah I gotcha. I took a look at the shackle kits, and they seem reasonably priced, I may have to look into them when I have the extra cash. They I gotta save for rims and tires too... What size do you have on there? 35's?
I'm looking for one of these fucking beasts, either a 97 with a dual turbo, or a 2000-01 with the same thing, extended cab, long box, 7.3, whats easier to find?
Also I'm in Canada and up here, its like looking for a needle in a haystack
@mirlin235 Only truck your gonna find with a dual turbo from the factory is a 2008 or newer 6.4L they didnt make 7.3s or 6.0s with dual, twin, compound, or sequential turbos
@mirlin235 ROFL! I will bet you any amount of money that it does not have twin turbos stock. He may have added them afterward but they are not stock. Eiheir your "buddy" is lying to you or you just have no idea what your talking about and should just stop talking.
@TheJared966 Uh dude, my buddy, is a mechanic, I think he knows what he is talking about, he bought it from down in the states, it was taking tactor trailers and construction vechicles back and fourth from the dig site
And please don't try and call me an idiot when I've been learning this stuff for 4 years, Thanks
Man, I watch these your PSD vids quite often I have to say, you should win an award or prize for having such a beautifully clean well kept truck!!! Most OBS would need a full fram-off restoration to look that good!
you aint kidding. I just got rid of a 2000 ford f150 xlt with a 5.4 triton v8 and it was getting no more than 11mpg highway Now I riding a 7.3 v8 diesel dually crewcab long bed dually and I'm getting almost 20mpg and I got double the towing capacity
yea i have the same truck but with the 460 big block and i get about 8 to the gallon but i do have an ass load of power (not near as much as a diesel tho lol )
we live in kentucky and he works on boats and he used to make a trip down to arkansas lik one every 2 weeks to pick up boats i guess the miles jus added up
my buddy has the same tires as you and his roll the other way thats all but yeah i love the truck im getting one but with a 460 gas motor in it.. but yeah keep her clean
I had the opportunity to buy a 67 Bronco fixer upper. Would have been my dream truck, I just wouldn't have the time to wrench. I spend enough time obsessive compulsing over the vehicles I have. What year Truck you gonna get?
its same as yours but with a big block 460 EFI under the hood for 6500 bucks, with only 221,000km on it 2.5" leveling kit and with brand new 33" super swampers.... but yeah..
Wow that's great mileage, I seem to get a solid 15 no matter what I do, towing light, unloaded, hot-doggin or driving like grandma, it just doesn't care what I do,never better than 15.5mpg. Is it pretty clean?
oh some old farmer used it for his 5th wheel hauler so its all highway driving, it still retains the factory transfercase and transmission colors from factory its mint... he said its never been on a logging road before. soo yeah for me its like a brand new truck..
I got the delete pipe and clamps. She will be straightpiped in about three hours, watch for the video tonite or over the weekend, thanks for the comment, your truck aint so bad either
the muffler is a western diesel performance. I didn't like their chip, I ran it for a week or so. made it idle rough and smoke too much. I put a banks transcommand on it, shifts too hard stacked on the internal shift improver, great by itself on my buddy's PSD. As for mine it added too much line pressure and made me worry about the front pump seal. This pickup is my baby and id like to see 300,000+ on the odometer before I see any problems.currently at 112k miles only driven twice a week.
I know what you mean when you say this truck is your baby I got 95 dually and not have not reached 100k. I stand at 83k and she been garged kept and babied all her life, great looking truck.
The exhaust consists od a 3.5" down pipe(a four inch, I suppose can be fit with minor cussing and beating the tar out of the firewall, but Ive read for overall performance some backpressure is needed for torque retention. After all diesels are known for torque, not horsepower.I may ditch the cat and muffler for sound quality.Ive got superchips programmer and a tymar from home,it runs too good to mess with anything else, shes as clean as they come stored indoors. Thanks for the positive comment.
