Simon was right. Her voice is obviously better than most singers as we can all hear. But even Streisand singing that song in that arrangement can fall on ears deafened by the constant oveplaying of "I will always love you" a few years ago (we all heard it). With her voice she is wiser in this program to avoid comparisons with a juggernaut like Whitney if possible. I know it's easier said than done. She's so good her career will take care of itself. Her parents must be proud.

I haven't been a big Syesha fan, but I think she did really great tonight. Her vocals were a little shaky towards the bigger notes but she was very connected to the song, which is what was lacking from Leona's performance. I think the main problem is that Syesha had to cut the song down to 1:30, and that is REALLY hard with this song since the whole thing is a build up to the big finish, but Syesha had to jump straight into the big notes.

As soon as I found out it was Dolly Parton week I knew Syesha was going to do I Will Always Love You. That's the big problem with her. She's predictable and sounds like 100 other people.

However, she did her own thing with this and I was pleasantly surprised. The judges comments will probably put her in the bottom three tomorrow night though.
