Ballshit baffles the brain dead Mr Farage. And the British are never told the "positives" of the EU, we are told only what you and others say.
Democracy was fought for by our forfathers, but democracy is useless when the people voting are voting based on knee jerk responses, and not educated knowledge of the subject matter at hand.
Fact: Whenever people are voting it is their right! Only an elitist asshat would suggest that democracy doesnt work when uneducated people are voting. So what level of education do we need? What type? Do people who went to oxford get three votes and cambridge two? Name ONE advantage of the EU that has panned out. ONE! I will remove this comment if you can with statistics and/or articles maybe fromt he economist prove to me there exists one thing the EU has done that couldnt be done without it!
@imonthebox what you advocate therefore, is not democracy. If only the 'educated' are allowed to vote (by whichever standard), we'd end up with oligarchies or other authoritarian regimes - determining policy with a 'father knows best' attitude.
I love the Poles, we go to war with Germany for them in 1939. How do they repay us?

and we cannot even afford to put jets on our aircraft carriers. ROFL ROFL ROFL
He's right in that the EU effectively diminishes the influence of the democratic process. We need a more democratic EU to counteract further nationalist surge in Europe.
There´s a youtube Hitler speech were he says that the currency system must be "regulated to dismantle the barriers encumbering free trade". First, i find it curious that Hitler defended free trade (many democratic parties were protectionist). Second, it sounds like the Euro: before 2000 Germany was struggling with deflation and strong deutsche mark, and disliked the (competitive) currency devaluation implemented by some european countries. The Euro ended both problems; and german trade boomed.
@xaviqaz Why bring Hitler into this argument? He also pioneered motorways (autobahns) and was a devout vegetarian. I suppose we should ban these things too?
@Catandthespoon Sorry sorry motorways (autobahns) where pioneered before (e.g. AVUS) everything else is a myth - and there where vegetarians b.h.. But probably you are right with the statement that there is no need to bring him into this argument...
@tenyako Ok, That is indeed true ... "The idea for the construction of the Autobahn was first conceived during the days of the Weimar Republic, but apart from the AVUS in Berlin, construction was slow, and most projected sections did not progress much beyond the planning stage due to economic problems and a lack of political support." Also, I did not mean to suggest that Hitler invented vegetarianism. LOL perish the thought...
3.54 says it all,Look at Barrosso the arrogant tosser looking away because he knows it's the truth his body language says it all.Why on god's earth are the people of Europe so apathetic about what is going on in this corrupt dictatorial so called parliament. These are our countries we live in not theirs i'm sick to death of the whole lot of them.Never mind the Arab spring we should start a european spring & kick this lot out of office with our own revolution.Let's hope the greeks are the catalyst
Nigel, what you say about the intolerance in Brussels is so very through. Any one questioning the 'state of Europe' is ridiculed, outcast and being pressured to get out of business. What do we do about it? March on the Berlaymont for a 'European Spring'?
Why isn't there anybody who has the opportunity and bravery to smack smirking Mr. Barroso and Mr. Schulz (both communists) in their pusses? (Yes I know these are intolerant thoughts, but the arrogance of these two is just disgraceful )
The entire political system and this farce of democracy have been designed from the ground up to ensure that politicians and parties hold only the most peripheral of influence in the direction of the state. The EU is a mandatory venture, scripted and planned long before any of these people were born, and so it doesn't matter what any of them say. The armies of unelected, but well funded bureaucrats will just keep pushing ahead as they always have. Nothing ever really changes in politics..
Shockingly ignorant. It's idiots like this that want to preserve all that is wrong about England whilst pretending that they are a defender of our values.

@Catandthespoon Well i'm embarrassed that YOU are English. Please,do the majority of us a favour and go and live in Brussels.Won't be long i'm sure until your just dying to get back to all those faourite things that make this country unique but if had my way the draw bridge so to speak would be hauled up just when your about to cross so hopefully you'll end up in the channel where you belong!

It is apt that you brought up draw bridges since your thinking is medieval at best. The country would be ruined for good, one suspects, if your voice was ever heard!
@jonybeam heir Shultz? I take it you mean 'Herr' the German word for Mr. Please try and say at least one sentence without making a total ignoramus of yourself. I am not a traitor, but a realist. You have nothing of substance to say - only hot air and patriotic bravado. The Anglo-American system is done. We need a new alternative and standing on our own isn't going to work anymore.
@Catandthespoon "The anglo american system is done"what total bollocks you have been talking on here.Listen the only ignoramous on this particular page is yourself and in fact i cannot be bothered with communicating with such an obviously uneduacted liberal weak minded brainwashed buffoon such as yourself.don't mean to be rude but you are incredibly INCREDIBLY naive. It's ok you go vote for your socialist republic of europe comrade amybe you'd like see the 'road of bones' re established too!
@jonybeam I hope in calling me naive and an ignoramus, the irony of your poor spelling and terrible grammar is not lost on you. What is even more ironic than that, however, is that it is always the bottom rungs of society like you that fight tooth and nail to preserve a system that keeps the lower classes in their place. It would be funny if it were not so sad... Oh, and Road of Bones? Nah, I'll take a road of tinfoil hats instead - starting with yours?
Farage has been in the EU parlament for a couple of years now and sure, he schools the meps everytime he talks. But in the end nothing really changes. I just feel that it was game over when they pushed through the Lissbon treaty over our heads. Most people don't understand whats going on or don't care. How are we realisticily going to get out of the EU?
@abvmoose87 Get more people to vote for politicians that don't suck.
Three years ago in the U.S., Ron Paul's campaign slogan was "Who is Ron Paul?" Now everyone knows who he is, and many, many citizens and politicians have adopted/spoken up about his ideas in just those three years. In Canada, they are overturning some of their old gun laws.
The wheels of change may turn slowly, but they do turn.
Mr. Barroso is not laughing any more as he usually did when Nigel spoke. Things are getting serious and ugly. It's just a matter of a short time until the shit hits the fan.
@johammbass unfortunatly he wont get into office as your elections r all rigged, look at your president mr barry seotoro who wasnt even born in the us, he is not legally your president yet he can make laws for you all to follow and does! look at the twin towers how they killed all those people and have got away with it, look at the patriot act millions were killed to protect democracy and freedom yet in one quiet corner of the world they brought in an act which has eroded the constitution
Abolish the EU. All countries should be separate, give all countries back their own currencies, just keep trading with each other and be peaceful and we can all prosper. This whole "EU thing" is an out of control drunken-circus that needs to be put to bed forever, and we'll all just pretend that nothing ever happened ok wink-wink;-)
@Munnchbunnch Big european banks have made loans against their "PIIGS" assets. If those countries leave the Eurozone those assets would suffer a massive devaluation (since the new currencies would lose value quickly), causing insolvency in the system. They will not even let a small country like Greece leave the Euro. And if Germany leaves the Euro (which will not happen either) the new deutsche mark would gain a lot of value, damaging their vital export sector. We are moving to a European State.
Schultz is going to be President soon, can you imagine every time Farrage speaks he, as the President, will be shouting, oh my god, what a disgrace for his country of Germany.
They'll not live that down and they've got to contend with the bailouts - just how unlucky can a country get?!
That was something else today, that really was a special one, honestly that was euphoric!
Fucking hell, it was like an all star cast with John Wayne and Clint Eastwood, Steve MCQueen, Sammy Big Ears... they were all getting slain: Barosso, Ashton (just because she turned up), Schultz with an excellent put down from Farrage! then the best they could come up with was a guy with a stammer, I fucking shit when that happened!
@HuwReesMusic Because politicians that don't make the cut on the national level are put on the shelf in Brussels. It is really a morgue of failed and second-rate politicians.
@Krifko That's shite, there are a number of good MEPs that are too right wing for the BBC to let win in the UK, sure plenty of shite (Kinnock) is in Europe, but, there are some gems and I wouldn't bet against them turning up in Westminster in a few years time.
@HuwReesMusic Why is he an MEP? Because he was elected. As a europhile, presumably you have a problem with this. Why is Barroso president of Europe is the question you should be asking. You muppet.
