@Rehnn83 Ahh yeah. This is where Avidemux starts to show itself as been not so full featured :(
I made full desktop sized images (i.e. 1920 x 1080) with black background and the text I wanted, then I put those images in the screen saver slideshow and captured using MSI Afterburner while they were scrolling. It's a very crude method.
Avidemux doesn't natively insert images (that feature got disabled in the new version). You could use subtitles (for text, headings etc).
@wesleychan9 Yep (but I'm sure it can be achieved easier in other programs).
You can either:
cut the video up into segments (in copy mode) and resample the sections you want fast-forwarded; before sticking it back together (this is how I do it).
OR (and I'm not sure how well this works)
Change the frame rate of the entire clip & apply the resampling filter to parts of the clip (i.e. using the 'Partial' button in the filter menu to only apply between certain frames) prior to encoding.
@barrymoves man, editing is sooo much work ay :/ encode, re-encode, speed it up, append it, remember the frame it starts/stops/continues........ i did find out how to add music though, hoorah!
Thought you might pimp the encoding process segment, by doing a high framerate break to head to the kitchen and smash a teh or two, and come back in time for the encoding to finish!
How do you insert still images?
E.g. Titles like "Step 8....."

@Rehnn83 Oh and after making a few montages using Avidemux it wasn't long before I wanted more grunt.
Now I use PowerDirector.

I want to fast forward my video AND shorten it by doing so.. any tips?
Fyralynn 4 months ago
@Fyralynn When you fast forward it will shrink the video duration at teh same time.

is there a way to just fast forward in certain parts?

how i can to just 2 sec in slowmotion?
IDarkboyI 6 months ago
@IDarkboyI
I've only had a little bit of a play with slow motion, but it is done in reverse:
Set the e.g. 30fps file to a frame rate of 15fps - copy it. Then open the 15fps copy and resample it at 30fps - select your codec and save.

Barry, nice tut.

Keep up the good work

@russelljf56 Luckily I was able to do the whole "here is something I prepared earlier" - the encoding takes a little longer normally....
