I feel bad for Jeff because he lost Owen, and he lost his wife Jill a few years ago while he was in TNA, losing two special people, takes a strong man to keep going in that business
i remember hearing of this, i was actually on vacation, visiting, niagara falls, i had passed bya souvineer stand, which was showing the event, next morning, i turned on the radio, it was all over the radio, i was truly upset, i was a huge fan of owen
It makes me sad that he died on my birthday in 1999, I remember watching this and it didn't hit me hard till watching RAW when they did the tribute show. I remember breaking down hard just like I broke down when Eddie died too.
Owen was a big inspiration on me, such till 2007 I ended up becoming a worker in this industry. Owen, you were a big inspiration to many, even me :) We miss you and every birthday I take a bump in your honor.
@cradiIy I've noticed that the only wrestlers who get tributes are the ones that die while they're still employed with the company. Probably why Test didn't get one.
@scotslad15 SAME HERE I grew up watching the Attitude Era and hands down the BEST TIME IN WWF HISTORY... I wasn't a huge Owen Hart fan but like everyone else in the wrestling world I have a lot of respect for the wrestlers because of the sacrifices they made day after day. I only watch now jus to keep up with Taker and Triple H
Owen Hart is an incredibly sad story. He never wanted to a be a pro wrestler but did it to provide for his family and keep up the family name. Breaks ur heart.......
@wrestlingjoey Yeah but that's the thing, Hunter seems like the type of guy that never wants people to see him being emotional and for him to be crying on camera and everybody seeing it just shows how hurt he was and probably still is.
Hard 2 believe test is gone as well. R.I.P to all the guys we grew up watching and are no longer with us. Thanks for the great entertainment thru the years.
It's been a good ten years since I've regularly watched wrestling, and Jeff Jarrett's tribute is one of the few things I remember vividly from that time.
I remember back then I hated Owen the heel because he played such an excellent heel and I remember watching this RAW when it aired. He made the front page back in Philadelphia (which was famous for ECW and is full of die hard wrestling fans) and everyone was just saddened that the wrestling world lost one of its greatest performers, a family lost a loving brother, husband and father, and humanity lost an even better human being.
That Jeff Jarrett part is so sad. He is a super nice guy. I met him last weekend. Real down to earth, regular guy, and judging by his, and everyone else's tributes, Owen was too. My little brother and I LOVED the Harts and The Hart Foundation.
so sad to see..a royal rumble without jeff an owen screwing each other ova mid way..is jus not the same..always screwed each other over yet here tag partners...rip owen
I remember that night vividly. I was 17 yrs old at the time. Owen Hart was outstanding at his job and that bastard Vince killed him. They even said he didn't want to be lowered down on a harness. Now we all know why. He didn't deserve to die that young and go out the way he did.
What was so sad was jeff sort of forgot where he was. He said most of the people in the buisness were fake or looked after themselves. So sad that somebody who was really a down to earth good person in a world of big egos and self serving attitudes died. R.I.P Owen..
I remember this so well.Owen's death was the very first death I experienced as a hardcore wrestling fan,and even though I didnt know personally,Owen was a fantastic wrestler and entertainer and when I heard the revealations about Owen as told by his peers,I learned he was a great family man,a good friend, and just a great and wonderful man
I remember attending pro wrestling at my high school and even they did a moment of silence for Owen Hart before THEIR show began.
Seeing Jeff and Road Dogg's cry was to this day heart breaking.. and i don't Jeff has talked about it since but, maybe i'm wronge i. but, you could believe this.
I had given away of all of my wrestling videos I had to a friend but there was one I kept and I still have to this day. The video of that PPV and the Raw dedicated to Owen. Watching this still brings a tear to my eye.
I still cry when I think of Owen. I used to have a tear-away desk calendar with a whole bunch of wrestling facts on it. When my Gramma heard on the radio that Owen had passed, I pulled the day off the calendar....and the day of May 24, 1999 had Owen's biography on it. I remember signing on to AOL (Keyword WWF. lol), and there was someone who wrote on a blog, "Owen deserved to die". I remember being 17 years old and PISSED that someone could be so cold.
@AskAdam28 WHy woukd anyone ever wish Owen Hart to die? He was the nicest person in the world. It's just so depressing to think of his death. He was one of the best, a true GOOD guy of the business.
@DefLeppardVanHalen yeah man that is fucked up... first u lose the guy who was like a brother to you and then 8 yrs later..ON THE SAME DAY MIND YOU...your wife dies...u know he has said if it wasn't for his 3 daughters he wouldn't have been able to function after his wife died
Billy meant well, but associating Owen with the whole "Suck it" thing after his death is just more awkward then a tribute. I know Bret didn't like it.
Thumbs up if you wish you had the chance to meet owen hart R.I.P cant believe its been 11 years since ive watched such a great entertainer put on a show.
@Mystary1 I did, when they did a show in Prince Albert way back in 1995. Him and Bret were picking up beer after the show and we were riding our bikes through the parking lot. We were so young that we didnt realize Bret and Owen actually hung out with each other because they hated each other so much in the ring. So we only wanted to meet Bret, and we were making jokes at Owen because he was a "bad guy" and he just took them and said he hates Bret but Bret lost a bet and had to buy him beer lol
While everyone speaks highly of Owen, I couldn't help but notice the varying opinions on the business in general. You have some guys talking about how while they are on the road they are 1 big family. Then you have other guys making reference to how Owen was 1 of the few good guys.

it hurts the kids and their future because THEY WANT THEIR FATHER!!!! for that reason, martha hart DOES NOT want the name, images, likeness, merchandise,etc.. of her husband(OWEN HART) to be apart of the WWE!!!
OWEN HART HAS ALREADY BEEN INDUCTED INTO THE HALL OF FAME:
OWEN HART HAS ALREADY BEEN INDUCTED INTO THE HALL OF FAME!!!!!
realistically, THE NAME is not inducted in order to respect the wishes of his wife(martha hart), martha's intentions is to SHUN their children from the tragedies that have transpired more than 11 years ago!!!! not only does it hurt the wife, but moreover, IT HURTS THE KIDS!!!!! CONTINUED.........
My heart REALLY goes out to Double J here...him and Owen were REALLY close friends and when you lose someone thats like a brother to you.....the pain is unbearable! We love you for doing this Jeff and we love you too Owen...R.I.P. bud
I feel so honored that I got to meet Owen back in 1995, he was the sweetest guy. Really nice to all the fans.... it's been over 10 years, and it still makes me sad. I know he had a fantastic future. Who knows if things happen for a reason or not, but Owen had a big impact on things. He was all heart (hart)...
@kustomchainwerks Calm Down Bro And Stop Telling People To Fuck Off And Die Its Really Annyoing! Cause I Beat Ya That All The People That You Said It To Want U To DIE ! So On Behalf Of All The Other Guys SHUT UP!
@bigrigbob2010 nope the book said that mcmahon switched stuny instructors at the last second because the one that they had said the safety harness was not adequate so they got a new one owen fell to his death
@hardcoreocealot OK the facts are wrong, not your reading, People have claimed lots of things that were not true.( the holocaust numbers for example) They used the same guy that did the rigs for sting in WCW. when he did the same stunt.
@JMJones09 Dude it still chokes me up to this day....Heels Faces, whatever, EVERYONE still has a heart, and JJ here has a big piece of HART in him....
@JMJones09 Yes Jeff is from a wrestling family same as Owen . Running in the same circles you grow to be friends as well they were good friends in real life
he died last year, not sure how, i dont know the exact facts so im not gonna speculate out of respect, but all i can say is rip owen and rest in peace test
he wasnt fired bc of what he said in fact jarrett got the IC title that owen was to get as the blazer. Vinnie forgot to renew the contract for jarrett and it cost him 1 million dollars for him match with Chyna
Fired?? Jeff Jarrett at the time was perma-WWF intercontinetal champ during this time. He left because he got PAID alot more and esp guarenteed money to go to WCW where not long after he was the WCW Heavyweight Champion of the World! Everyone backstage knew Owen was blackballed into staying with the WWF because of his long-term contract and likewise everyone knew he was blackballed for refusing the writers request to do low-brow segments thereby being forced into the Blazer gimmick he hated
Despite the tears, I couldn't help but chuckle at the stories about Owen Hart being a master prankster on or off the road (the chili and BBQ was the one of the funniest I've heard so far). There were even times in house shows and tours that he would deliberately go all comedy and make his opponents (and even his tag team partner) nearly fall off the ring laughing (read it on Bret's website). Remembering these happy moments do help lessen the pain of his loss.
@darknessfatale Read mick foleys first book and he also says a bunch of pranks owen did to him and other people and how he would over act to certain moves to get a rise out of the superstars.
To anyone who says the show must go on, no it doesn't need to, somebody died, if it had been anything else the show would have stopped and any fan that couldn't understand that is a prick.
holy shit, jeff jarret is acting like a huge pussy

I feel so honored that I got to meet Owen back in 1995, he was the sweetest guy. Really nice to all the fans.... it's been over 10 years, and it still makes me sad. I know he had a fantastic future. Who knows if things happen for a reason or not, but Owen had a big impact on things. He was all heart (hart)...

bigrigbob2010 1 year ago
@bigrigbob2010 nope the book said that mcmahon switched stuny instructors at the last second because the one that they had said the safety harness was not adequate so they got a new one owen fell to his death
hardcoreocealot 1 year ago
@hardcoreocealot OK the facts are wrong, not your reading, People have claimed lots of things that were not true.( the holocaust numbers for example) They used the same guy that did the rigs for sting in WCW. when he did the same stunt.
bigrigbob2010 1 year ago
@hardcoreocealot thats the guy they replaced face it mcmahon is responsible for the death of owen hart and thats that
hardcoreocealot 1 year ago
@hardcoreocealot Russo, not mcmahon.

I heard Vince was mad at Jarrett's tribute segment when Jarrett said the WWE business was "cold, selfish, callous, unrealistic, fantasy world".
neely47 2 years ago
yeah he got fired after it
temptationofmemories 2 years ago
he wasnt fired bc of what he said in fact jarrett got the IC title that owen was to get as the blazer. Vinnie forgot to renew the contract for jarrett and it cost him 1 million dollars for him match with Chyna
whatup876 2 years ago
it cost vinny mac 330,000 for double js match with chyna
micky77mc 2 years ago
Rvd420WHAT 1 year ago 3
Jeff Jarrett did not get fired for saying this you idiot.
22jaykob22 1 year ago 2
i wonder if jarrett still keeps to his word now.

Remembering these happy moments do help lessen the pain of his loss.
darknessfatale 2 years ago 36
@darknessfatale Read mick foleys first book and he also says a bunch of pranks owen did to him and other people and how he would over act to certain moves to get a rise out of the superstars.
hardrocker51406 1 year ago
To anyone who says the show must go on, no it doesn't need to, somebody died, if it had been anything else the show would have stopped and any fan that couldn't understand that is a prick.
RIP Owen Hart
