The one true flaw in all of this reasoning is that Hal was NOT wearing a GL ring when he became Parallax--he was wearing Lord Malvolio's ring and that ring DID work on yellow. It doesn't explain how the Guardians were able to remove the yellow weakness from Yalan Gur's ring and later make the weakness wood.
Staging would have been much better had they appeared together in the same shot (panel)... to keep them ...not in the same frame was wrong...Why was it done??????
yeah so from this new time stream that appeared ... i dont know when.. superman and batman have been in service for about 15 years... instead of 70. This constant reinvention keeps the characters young and story lines appropriate.
Not anymore. The "Present Day" is always shifting. Do you really think Kyle has been a Green Lantern for 15 years? No, he's been a Green Lantern for 3 years in the comics continuity, putting Coast City's disaster around 2006. Next year, it'll be 2007.
But Hal died because he had to absorb the Sun Eater, didn't he??? Parallax Hal had enough power to restart the sun, but he had to kill the Sun Eater, and the only way to do it, was absorbing it before it kill him, therefore, Kyle theory fails, because if the Sun Eater had dissapeared somehow, Hal could still living, that's why the power was left in the sun
But it's ok, the story is great, and as before, I give 5/5

Hal and Alan Scott. And most of the GLC. Not Kyle, Kyle isn't a real Green Lantern. Just a lame ass attempt to attract the youth and spiderman fans. LAAAAAME.
That theory, about Hal trying to get the power of the Spectre, was also Batman's one in rebirth, reminding them that Hal was powerful as Parallax, but if he had managed to control the power of the Spectre... well, we know everyone would be screwed
And, I don't know, that seems weird... does that mean that Kyle changed his costume every year????? I would like to think that Kyle as a Lantern was 5 years ago, but well, who cares? those are comics
Coast City was destroyed by Cyborg Superman hank Henshaw and Mongul. Hal used his ring to try to rebuild and reanimate everyone in Coast city. The Guardians tried to strip hal of his powers and Hal went berrzerk becoming parallax. He nearly destroyed the DC main universe. Parallax had an awesome Total Justice figure made of him.
It was. But those events no longer happened in 1994, but "Three Years Ago" by current continuity -- which would be 2005. And next year, Coast City's destruction will happen in 2006.
Yeah, it don't make sense... nothing Mars wrote made sense. Kyle sucked until Mars left the book. Then it was up to other authors to try to untangle the mess.
no no. the dc universe is constantly updating it's point in time. so by this time in two years. cost city burning will have happened after 911. it's confusing. i know but it's the only way we have our characters remain young and sexy. no one wants 80 year old batman.
It used to. But with GL, like any comic, time doesn't move in real time... example being, according to Booster Gold #2, 10 years ago Sinestro was still a Green Lantern (even though even in Showcase #22, published in 1959 -- 49 years ago -- Sinestro had already been banished to Qward). All things figured, right now, in the DCU, Kyle has only been a GL for about 2, maybe 3 years. 3 years ago was 2005. And next year, 3 years ago it'll be 2006. And so on, so forth.
But wen u say the Guardians power is diffrent from parallax. but didnt hal take all their power ? ie. (the Battery) and it says that hal took the knowlage from the guardians on how to remake the universe. Im just asken thats all
i thought wen Hal was parallax he was as powerful as the specter ? because in rebirth the ganthet says the specter is dwarfed by the power of the gurdians an Hal took all that power.
In "Zero Hour" it's pretty well indicated that the Spectre has a greater (albeit, different) power level than Hal as Parallax. And the "Power of the Guardians" isn't the same thing as Parallax.

I thought the yellow impurity was because of paralax, and once he was released it went with him
getdown989 2 years ago
You are right... but Geoff Johns later retconned his own work. Now there's a Yellow Weakness even without him in the battery.

I love the idea but I was expecting comedy, not a overcap of what I can find on wikipedia. Also this needs some work

The way I understood it, he took the power from the battery and killed the Guardians, who had transferred all of their power into Ganthet.
