Let me guess, another video made by someone who was never involved in an open adoption. Ugh. My son's parents are still "kind and loving" towards me and my elder child. Drives me nuts when those who have never had an open adoption and therefore don't really know what it's like are preaching about what it's not.
It's a SHAME that we have to go thru so much research & deal w/so much unknown to help a child with adopting them into a home. It shouldn't be this way & this does not get enough attention. It just goes on & on & on. All the confused parents want to be's out there like me. Children should not have to deal with this all.
As an adoptee, adoptive mother, and living in a country where babies are not brokered,I do not subscribe to this video at all. Agency staff can care-but with all workplaces there are butt-heads...so choose who YOU want to represent YOU. Some Adoptive Parents pull away-but they reap what they sow when THEY have to explain to their child later on in life. Some Birth Parents pull away-but NEVER because they dont love their child....(BTW - in our house that means at least weekly contact)
I have an amazing relationship with my daughter's adoptive parents. I see her regularly. If you are pregnant and considering adoption I urge you to not make your judgements based on a video or a movie like Juno. This decision comes from the heart. Research the company and the parent's background.
This video is so true! While you are in a panic, the adoption agency and/or doctor feeds your fears that you alone are not enough to care for your child. They did't tell me the grief one goes through after delivery when your baby is gone without ever seeing your baby! You are what your baby needs most...not a stranger.

I am adopting it depends on your agency. I have not had this problem. Maybe you should look around for a different agency....Just a thought.

Wow, I love this video, thank you for doing this. This is exactly what happened to me and many other mothers I know. Keep your baby!

This is excellent!
I just wish one or two of the slides with writing on them went by a bit slower.
