  • its really great and enjoying watching your cooking.......

  • you lost me at 3:11

  • I'm unable to find the Sweet Bean Sauce, Tian Mian Jiang, is it necessary or is there any substitute for it? I checked all over town and even went to the Asian Market here and haven't found it. I have everything else

  • @ultimatesend Oh and I can't find the Chinese style chicken stock, is normal chicken stock acceptable?

  • @ultimatesend Tian Mian Jiang and Doubangjian are both made out of beans, just one is sweet the other is spicy. I'm not sure if you know of Hoisan Sauce, Pho place always have them(the black one) but they work too, perhaps just add a bit sugar to it unless you think it's already sweet enough. If you really can't find anything---adding sugar into Doubangjian will be your last resort. Add until you think it's more sweet than spicy then you can stop.

  • @tsukima8920 Thanks. My mother and I used plum sauce which worked fine too, I'll buy some Hoisan Sauce tomorrow, I saw it in the store today but wasn't sure of what it was but I was looking at it for a while.

  • is there a substitute for the Sake? I don't think i want to serve food that has sake to kids...

  • @yukina5606 the alcohol evaporates during the cooking process so it's absolutely fine. It is mainly used for getting rid of the unpleasant smell of the meat and to add to the aroma.

  • @tsukima8920 wow I didnt know that. Thanks for replying!

  • I remember first hearing about sake in the original Japanese film Ju-On. Supposedly ghosts made sake taste bitter than usual.

  • isn't it some what of a health hazzard to have the dog sitting on the counter like that during the cooking?

  • NICE ACCENT ^^ lol hahahaha

  • LOLS! I'm pretty sure sake isn't part of the original Chinese recipe =) The food looks delicious.

  • That dog is chill as fuck.

  • I didn't understood, is this a vegetarian dish or not?

  • @xjustapersonX no its not. but you can make it vegetarian. Use red bell pepper instead of ground pork. i presonally prefer both, red bell pepper and meat :D !

  • @ezechielbiosfear ooh thanks! (:

  • I just made this and is delicious.

Thank you so much for sharing your recipes!

  • 食い物のことで喧嘩すんなってのー。

Please do not quarrel about food, guys.

    うまいものはうまい、でいいじゃないか。

We love delicious food. That's all.

  • What type of sake do you use in the mabo tofu sauce? Is it ryori sake or mirin or the type of sake that you drink?

  • so here is the question is japanese Kare Indian food? or Japanese food? Is Tonkatsu japanese or Portugish?? is Mentaiko pasta italian??

  • no spring onion? NO SPRING ONION?!! every chinese dish deserves spring onion!

  • @chushui

That's why this is japanese, not chinese.

  • @PammieChan mapo tofu is a Chinese dish but tones of peoples in japan love it

  • @XxlostmycupcakexX

It is Chinese, but I meant since it's cooked by japanese, they don't always follow the recipe to the letter. :P

  • i'm chinese and i use ma po tofu powder to make this :D

  • She forgot to add the dog!

  • @thirakwa fuck you racist stereotyping asshole

  • @thirakwa that is very offensive. Admittedly, its not the most sanitary practice in the world to cook alongside a DOG. However, it doesnt make it ok to toss around racist "jokes" that offend people.

  • well i just fell in love with the dog !

  • i did this and it was on the slightly salty side had to add a tablespoon of sugar

  • @dyno408 yea, i made it too and it ended up salty. I had to add some water XD

  • @treehuggerdude4 however, i really liked it nonetheless. Thanks for posting this video cooking with dog! It was good!

  • thank god its easier with a pot of hot beancurd sauce (it has pieces of bean and chili in it)

  • what kind of knife is she using?

  • @Jwing649 A ceramic knife

  • @Jwing649 a ceramic knife very very sharp

  • Will the Sake make you high????

  • @HajisSaya Its like Beer or Wine. When you add sake to food it acts as cooking wine.

  • @789beechbabe wtf is angel beats

  • @ParkLeeNa Angel Beats is a Japanese anime, where they showed one of the characters eating Mapo tofu.

  • @AzuNekoChan and you guys wanted to know.. what the anime character was eating... o.k..

  • Please do not quarrel about delicious food, guys.

    食べ物のことでケンカしちゃいけないね。

  • This recipe produces a delicious dish, I've made it a few times and it's a crowd-pleaser, even for people who don't like spicy food!

  • my saliva is droooling >O<

  • such a strange language >_>

  • Looks heavenly

  • Thank you so much for this recipe! :D I was able to successfully make a nice dinner that my whole family loved! I am totally trying this again sometime :)

    Angel Beats FTW!

  • Mapo tofu daisuki! korekara dokodemo tsukurukotdekimasu! arigatooo!

  • I love the many styles of Chinese-influenced dishes in this world. Excellent playlist.

    Check out Indo-chinese. Especially Gobi-manchurian.

  • Omg ppl... who the f cares if it's Chinese or Korean or Japanese... IT'S FOOD!!!

    ...good food. :)

  • thats some crazy mapo tofu!!!!!! TK

  • Is soft tofu okay to use instead of firm? O:

  • Uh I'm not allowed to eat pork. Would it be okay if I change it into beef?

  • @A7XFan800 DO IT FAGGOT.

  • @Reno750 Uncalled for...

  • @Reno750 And I thought insensitive, narrow minded douchebags didn't like cooking videos. Learn some respect and get a life

  • @MrOtterfuzz It's a meme, kid. Get a Tolerance Bar and suck it up.

  • @Reno750 Meme or not, it's still offensive. Grow a pair, seriously.

  • @Reno750 A meme for faggots like you~

  • @RomZomCom Holy shit I've never had a creepy online stalker before! Get away from me.

  • @Reno750 Ooh, I know you love that huge cock. Come here, baby.

  • @A7XFan800 Yep, go for it! Really almost any ground meat can be switched to replace another. I just made this today and I didn't have chicken stock (my bad) so subbed with some dashi stock. It made it a little bit fishier in a good way but still tasty.

  • AHUHU ANGEL BEATS ; A;

  • I wants all cooking tools she uses :3 i wanna make this for my lil bro he LOVES spicy food

  • Holy Shit...

  • 最近豆板醤と甜麺醤を買ってきて自分なりの麻婆豆腐を作ったりしています。

    作り方は単純だけに美味しくするのは難しいね。

  • Please stop! stop making this delicious tortureee >_<

  • Hey francis, where did you get this woman! She's such a good cook! I'm so jealous of you. Being a dog with no servants, I need one! I'm tired of dog food!

  • I tried this today. It's killer! Very good! Thank you so much cookingwithdog!

  • Oooooh, I like that knife! Thanks obasan!

  • @mayatk1 actually, it IS chinese food u can even search it up. if u translate it, mapo is pockmarked-face lady and tofu is just tofu

  • I didn't know mapo tofu had pork!?

  • i'd so hire her to be my chef!

  • Holey garlic

  • I cant stop licking my lips :P

  • おいしい!!!

  • can i have some?

  • @mayatk1 That's rude... Who are you to say Koreans don't give credit... You're really rude to make this kind of big assumption.

  • @mayatk1 For your information, that's because they are made differently and have different style to it. Koreans put other ingredients that are different and unique to Korean cuisine. You're rude by insulting Korean food when you don't even have a lot of knowledge of it.

  • @fingermakeupart And hence, my original point. I'm sure the Ma-po tofu you see here are made differently and have different style to it, compared to the Chinese Ma-po tofu. But, did the Japanese claim its originality, or change names? No.

  • @mayatk1 Since when did I even say Japanese are claiming ma-po tofu as theirs... I'm just saying you're being rude by insulting Korean food. I'm simply asking you to apologize for your rude comment regarding Korean food...

  • @fingermakeupart I used the Japanese Ma-po tofu as an example to imply that your point about different styles and cooking methods, is insufficient as a reason to justify changing names to an already invented dish and claiming it Korean food.

  • @fingermakeupart And since you started a debate with regards to whether udong and gimbap, I said "And hence, my original point", to illustrate the problem whereby these foods are seen as Korean original, and not Japanese.

  • @mayatk1 Have a great holiday.

  • @fingermakeupart you too.

  • @mayatk1 Mandu too.... its just Chinese dumplings... they call it Korean food too.

  • @artz900 what confuses me about mandu is that despite the hanja for mandu is 饅頭, it looks like a 餃子.

  • @mayatk1 Udong? Udon is not korean, if that's what you meant.

  • @mayatk1 koreans never claimed Udon is korean food... every korean knows Udon is japanese... but for gimbap we would say it might be japanese influenced but it is korean food..

  • @mayatk1 so do the koreans you racist.

  • @xei8ht "I'm racist and I find your comment Korean"

  • @mayatk1 thats fine. I find your comment rather chinese. i'd pay more attention to how much your culture steals from others especially if i'm going to rip on another country.

  • @xei8ht funny you say that. I'm not Chinese.

  • @mayatk1 In your line of logic, then, why don't you blame the Italians for not giving credit to the Chinese for their dishes like ravioli (which was developed by the Chinese technique of using rice flour)? It seems like, to you, anything that is remotely influenced by Chinese cuisine should be given credit as being Chinese.

PS: Koreans do give credit to Chinese cuisine. Research before blabbing out unwarrated assumptions, thanks :)

  • @yunkyou I was actually pointing to the fact that Korean food do not give credit to other food cultures, not Chinese cuisines alone.

The Korean "Culture" of claiming other culture to originate from Korea is famous that people make fun of it /watch?v=KiLA6Bk_ivs.

As for the ravioli, it's pretty much the same argument as the Korea Pizza.

  • @yunkyou preach itttttttttt THANK YOU.

  • ほ~、しょうがって皮むかなくていいんだ☆勉強になります

  • This Chinese dish is also popular in Vietnam.

I tasted it and it's not as spicy as Angel Beats made it out to be.

  • Comment removed

  • where is the taste button?

  • that must be torture for the dog to just watch+smell the whole thing.

  • Am I the only one who sees the yellow stuff in the rice? What is that?

  • i love u.thanks for you amazing recepts

  • it looks so good but everytime i think of tofu i stray from it

  • Is the sake necessary?

  • @XxrElEAsEmExX Sake is always necessary! Jk. I've tried sake before, and it's not the greatest, but it's a very neutral sort of drink, and very inoffensive to the taste buds. I'd say it's optional in this, but it doesn't really matter as most of the alcohol and flavor from the sake will be gone or lost in the other flavors.

  • I love how they make dishes from animes. I remember she made a chocolate cornet thing from lucky star

  • I don't own any nonstick pans, so it always looks weird to me when she pours the oil into the nonstick pan and it beads up like water on wax.

  • Im stupid i always watch this when im hungry xD

  • Kanade Tachibana respects this video.

  • this look like cooking mama LMAO hahaah awsome food im hungry now!!!! LOL

  • looks like francis smiled a lot... good job, francis never slept...

  • i really hate people say something bad to the others, you know.. this food was chinese style turned into a japanese style, so what? if she did it in their style.. what's wrong.. maybe your just insecure.... by the way i like it...

  • the subtitles help a lot ! lol

  • When are you going to cook the dog?

  • Ceramic nife, so particular !!

  • I love those ceramic chef's knives! They never dull.

  • Another tip: Use a good quality tofu that tastes good or else you might not like mapo tofu.

  • @gojjkjkmtl1117 Or even better, use silken tofu! The silky taste of the tofu makes the recipe even better!

  • also aiba masaki's fav food!

  • @dramafreak32

    <3 I love him !

  • 1:22 Dog looks a little crazy

  • I just made this recipe and it was fantastically delicious!!! I had a second helping of rice which I almost never do. Thanks for sharing this recipe! I'll definitely make this again ^^Y

  • I'm assuming this is the japanese style, the chinese ver. has salted baby shrimps and instead of ground pork, it's ground beef... I'm not too sure, but thats as much as i know lol. I'll try making this one...

  • I just made this for dinner. So good! I had to make some substitutions too, I used garlic chili sauce and hoisin sauce, and I substituted mirin for the sake, but it still came out great. Thanks for your videos!

  • Chop the garlic into five peezees...love Francais :)

  • I just made this for lunch! I don't have doubanjiang or tian mian jiang, so I used soy sauce, sweet soy sauce (kecap manis), and chilli sauce. It created the same taste :D

  • dengeki daisy special in chapter 21 :)
