Comparing skyrim and dark souls is just wrong. While skyrim is more a '' Do what ever you want to do '' game dark souls is more action based.

Bought this right after Skyrim decided to crap out and I have to say I'm far more immersed in this than I ever was in Skyrim.

Make Skyrim dragons seem like little geckos compared a "measly" wyvern in Dark Souls (seriously for a wyvern that thing was far more ferocious than any dragon in Skyrim- you'd think it be the other way around).

I love Dark Souls and Skyrim, but I find Skyrim to be more addictive, yet more boring and easier, and unequal enemy difficulty. For example,

Skyrim: Epic music because of an incoming dragon, killed in 10 seconds. Later, find a Bandit Cheif, he beheads you.

Dark Souls: Fell off a ledge. FUCK. Get killed by 2 Hollow Soldiers. FUCK. Find a huge red Dragon, burned in seconds. HOLY GOD DAMN

The beginning of this is terrible. Not that I hate the trailer, just that I could have planned out a trailer, making it may have been harder, but the cinematics and planning are a bit iffy. You really have to start off by giving the audience a clue what the trailer was about first, if they announced the game with this first, the audience would have been watching 2 minutes of mystery gameplay until they found out what it actually was, making what they saw earlier lose a bit of its power...

This is the best game that i have ever played. I love it of all my hart. After buying Demon's Souls one month before Dark Souls launch i was hooked. Then when i boughtDark Souls on release, i could not want anything moore. I did not whant to play Skyrim at realese because of Dark Souls and i had waited for Skyrrim since Oblivion.

Dark Souls is game of the year for me, and game of my lifetie, but we hav to wait for the next installment to see how long it wil last...

I like Dark Souls and Skyrim, but I find Dark Souls to be more exciting. For example:

Skyrim: Hey, look, 3 dragons. I'll just yell and them and then kill them in ten seconds.

Dark Souls: HOLY FUCK! That Dragon killed me before I could even cross the bridge!

I believe Dark Souls is a lot better than Skyrim, being i've beaten Skyrim, at least, four times, with four different races. Skyrim does get extremely boring after awhile, plus the dungeons sometimes feel very repetitive. That is my honest opinion. This is Dark Souls. Best game ever.

@slip9906 HA, sure, it has elements that may be better, you could say the story is btter, but if you really get in depth with dark souls, the story is quite dark and intrifuing, you could say the combat is better, but really their two different genres of combat and its all opinion, you could say dialouge and character development are better, but dark souls isnt trying for those things, it wants you to feel alone and helpless, because really, you are, so fuck your opinion, their both good

Completely new world you don't need to have played the first one although playing the first one would probably help prepare you for the challenge this game will bring.

@FettoDegen Not really. Unless you have anger issues. I'm on my second playthrough, and the only time I wanted to rage was Capra (a REALLY cheap boss). If you die in this game, it tends to be your fault after the first few areas. This game is punishing, but it's not that hard if you're careful.

@BenoGamez If Skyrim's battle system is like Oblivion's, then I'm pretty sure Dark Souls will be better at that, which is a great part of the game. Demon's Souls had everything I missed in Oblivion, both in battle and online. That is not to say Demon's Souls had it's weaknesses, but I'm pretty sure I will enjoy Dark Souls at least as much as I will enjoy Skyrim, if not more! xD

no, its a game with a not preposterously high budget. keep in mind that the original demons souls was no better looking than this, but was held in very high regard by core gamers for its simplicity, innovation and the sense of achievement it afforded upon achieving pretty much anything. i am tired of listening to people like you write off games because "they aren't pretty." enjoy your killzone or gears of war, i am going to play a real game.
