p.s. the sistem deos make it hard to adopt!! my family was going to adopt a boy (who to this day i still consider himas my brother), and after spending 9 years with us (since he was born) they took him away and gave him to another family just because he was a preacher .... but it was the worst thing they could have done.. he missed us and rebelled so much... grew up without love and i now in jail, spending the rest of his days there :-(

Considering how the world is at present, i can understand the govt being meticulous regarding the adoption process.

But The system makes it exceedingly and unnecessarily difficult for people to adopt kids, Yet they complain when people are discouraged and they have too many children in the system!!!!!!

yeah they have to make sure the kids arent going off with any weirdos. i saw a law and order episode where this guy married a woman from the shelter just so he could rape her son...not the same thing exactly but the same basic concept. there are a lot of crazy people out there...

@maryray10 I agree, Recently my mother sent her last of three children off to college. She had a big house, wonderful neighborhood, lovely school system, & tons of love and opportunities to share. One of her nephews was sent to foster care for 8 months she tried to gain custody of him. However he was never granted to her. You know why? Because detention centers and group homes gain their money by having these children stay in the system. Plenty of children and parents are duped by the system..

@maryray10 Here, here! Many people end up being raised by their grandparents or by a single parent so being single or a little older is no reason to prevent people from adopting. Think about how old this episode is and the fact that this problem still exists today. You should have prove yourself willing and able to care for a child but you shouldn't have to be some perfect idealized version of parents that they've gotten into their heads.
