i love his art, good slide show for sure. and the ending act was pretty groovy. but i always take his speaches with a grain of salt. he does make alot of sense dont get me wrong. everything he says has deep meaning, but i have a serious issue with someone telling me wat my own reality is. like saying that i perceive the color yellow the same exact way that someone else does. i can distinguish it from other colors the same yes, but it doesnt look the same through all eyes

I think that the best mindset you can have when taking hallucinogens is that you are aware of their power and open to something higher than yourself. So far as research shows, achieving a permanent understanding of these higher realms using only psychedelics is extremely rare. However, inter-meshing them with other practices like meditation and writing, painting, drawing, etc. does wonders in my experience. I also think that the gov. should allow more studies to be done on their effects.

How true ambient...I have never "experimented" with drugs myself...I always tell ppl I don't need drugs, I'm naturally this weird...lol. However, there are many spiritual traditions, in which the use of so-called psychedelics is an everyday practice, but only by those who are experienced shamans and mystics. No I just sense that it is influenced more by Eastern forms of belief which look DOWN on animals. For example 'warning' you may be born an animal if you do 'bad karma'
So BOTH Western and Eastern big religious theory looks down on animals. In Bible its dominionism
whereas for many Indigenous people their actual rituals very much inolve acting like animals and shape shifting into them. So there's an honour for their non human intelligence

I train internal Martial Arts, and a lot of that is based on taking on the Spirit of certain animals. At the moment I'm walking with the spirit of the Crane.
One must humble oneself before ALL of creation, and seek the answers from every thing one comes into contact with. Weither it be a rock, or an animal or a tree. We are all equal, we are all One. There is no hierarchy in the Tao.

I think that the best mindset you can have when taking hallucinogens is that you are aware of their power and open to something higher than yourself. So far as research shows, achieving a permanent understanding of these higher realms using only psychedelics is extremely rare. However, inter-meshing them with other practices like meditation and writing, painting, drawing, etc. does wonders in my experience. I also think that the gov. should allow more studies to be done on their effects.

I found the original African Bwiti and South American Shamanic universal religions and "cures" extremely powerfull(warning: only if performed in safe and spiritual setting with leaders of crystalline caracter and reputable positive experience) as the key in removing past and present traumas, the opening of the heart and the awakening of the soul consciousness which is our BIRTHRIGHT!

You've obviously never seen a closed-minded elitist asshole take hallucinogens. It's probably the source of all the horror stories (jumping out the window, suicides, etc.). They're not just magic tabs that turn you into an enlightened being. They are a tool to be used along with the correct mindset/conditions.

I agree, CHAOSDEATHCULT... psychedelics can't cure narrow-mindedness. Anyone thinking of taking LSD or other such drugs must be willing and aware that they need to have a very positive mindset first. If this is the case, then they really can do wonders for you, as a tool to help you explore your divinity (you will come to find that it lies within). If not, then you'll probably become terrified and have a "bad trip".

A lot of people buy into the hype of psychedelics being bad for you. Now there is such a thing as too much of a good thing, but I truly believe that when ppl do "experiment", they are attempting to reach GOD, though they may not even consciously realize it.

Funny you should mention acid. It appears that there is another part of this DVD discussing Dr Albert Hofmann, father of LSD. I don't know why people are giving you thumbs down for talking about what's obvious. Sort of goes against the precepts of New Ageism not to allow one to express themselves freely.

How true ambient...I have never "experimented" with drugs myself...I always tell ppl I don't need drugs, I'm naturally this weird...lol. However, there are many spiritual traditions, in which the use of so-called psychedelics is an everyday practice, but only by those who are experienced shamans and mystics. These paths are very specific in warning the layperson against such practices, for good reason. Some people are just not ready for certain fundamental truths.

lol Ambient, sorry I didn't respond sooner. The 60s were kind of a sad time, because it made way for the empty-souled 70s, with its disco and Studio 54, and eventually the "Me" generation of the 80s. The young people at first were trying to find God, though many might not have put it that way, and instead, they found a path to destruction. I am not into the whole free love thing, because it is too reminiscient of the Cult of Ishtar, and a religion based entirely on sex, is no religion at all.
