It's a shame that you won't tolerate any story telling, there is a great conversion story online called; becoming muslim by Shaykh Nuh Keller it's his conversion story from a philosophy major to a muslim, he also wrote a very interesting article about evolution that is based on reasoning. @AR333 I assume you've spoken to quite a few imams to come to that conclusion? I personally know an Imam who is a convert and used to be a marine biologist and used to give lectures of evolution. It's a shame that you won't tolerate any story telling, there is a great conversion story online called; becoming muslim by Shaykh Nuh Keller it's his conversion story from a philosophy major to a muslim, he also wrote a very interesting article about evolution that is based on reasoning. @adnan86pk Muhammad was a successful trader/merchant by his early 20`s and was surely able to read/write receipts/goods/trade/services in Arabic which were all duly transcribed throughout the Levant during the Byzantine Era and even back to the time of Christ.He probably even had rudimentary skills in Hebrew,Akkadian and Assyrian as well, as most of his customers were Jewish traders. You dont become a successful businessman if you cant read/write a receipt/transaction of trade/goods/services.

On "booty" - or the women, children, land, and other plunder Muhammad STOLE from other tribes (according to Islam's OWN TEXTS), Muhammad invented an entire chapter of his Qur'an. Chapter 8 - 'SPOILS OF WAR/BOOTY'.
And the very FIRST verse? Qur'an 8.1
"They ask thee (O Muhammad) of the spoils of war. Say: THE SPOILS OF WAR BELONG TO Allah and THE MESSENGER..."
Look at this objectively as if you weren't a Muslim. Self-serving doesn't begin to describe Muhammad.

If you REALLY have any objectivity, then you should read the TREATY that Muhammad singed between the Muslims of Medina and the Jews of Medina. You can find it by googling. Read it and tell me if this TREATY resembles "world conquest." GOD is One. God is One. Not THREE. Not a human, not a son, not a daughter, not an idol. Black, white, african, persian, european, were some of the races who were companions/disciples of the Prophet. He lived in poverty, although he could have been a king.

Islamic/Muslim culture is 100% superior in terms of its rejection of Jewish/North American values, particularly relevant to our times.
How can we blame Arabic countries for rejecting/fearing North American culture/norms whilst we promote sex, drugs, violence and sickness?

He is lucky he lives in a society that gives him the right to choose, but would he have such a choice in KSA, Iran, Pakistan or even Turkey these days if his conscience led him to Christianity? No. He has signed on to a dictatorial dogma that puts ideas from the middle ages (aka sharia law) ahead of seperation of church and state. Not saying Christians and Jews dont have their supernatural beliefs, but most dont want their clerics running the state.

You will only find out whether it does or not is if you actually read it. No compulsion of course. :)
Intellectual curiosity may demand it, but we are all different. If you haven't read it, what harm can a book you don't believe in do? If you have, fair enough.

I actually have read some of it before out of curiosity. No more than 4-5 pages though. It's style is different from something like the bible however. Almost like a poem in some ways. It was still basically the same rhetoric.]
Now I have read the bible in almost all of its entirety. I used to be a catholic before I read it. I became agnostic after finishing it and atheist much later.

well what THEY believe is for THEM and for THEM only. In islam, everyone will account for their OWN deeds. no muslim has a say over another muslim or any other person.
(however shia muslims are similar to catholics, as they believe religious leaders and priests have autority over others and even worship them).

My point is Lang is from a culture that currently is tolerant of all faiths. In most countries in the world were Islam dominates, this is not the case. So why does he join an organization that doesnt treat the group he belongs (people of Christian faith or cultural backgound or of no faith at all) the same tolerant way they (Islam) gets treated in Western Europe and the USA? Does he want the women of Europe to be forced to wear burkas someday?

granted, muslims countries today are not the best examples..i say that starting w/ myself as an individual first. but that doesn't negate the tolerance islam prescribes on its followers. there are coptic christians living in egypt to this day..these are people who have lived there before islam and under islam, no one one wiped them out. the 'golden era of judaism' by their own account was under muslim rule in spain..all this cuz of the tolerance islam teaches..much like the verse i posted.

"There is no compulsion in religion. The right direction is henceforth distinct from error. And he who rejecteth false deities and believeth in Allah hath grasped a firm handhold which will never break. Allah is Hearer, Knower".
Anyone who forces things upon another, muslim or not, here is your answer. If any muslim does this, confront them with this verse. Also, a burka is not compulsary, but culture. Peace.
