  • HAZ-MAT situation, wildland fire, grandma falling, strokes, robberies, etc, and other unforeseen situations that dont wait to figure out who is going to respond to it and what is the main form of comoensation/pay that those who do respond are expected to receive for their services. It not reasonable however to expect taxpayers to foot the bill for every routine checkup, every ER trip for a headache, every cavity filling, every baby being born, everymed someone takes, every simple,etc..

  • This is why I am against socialized healthcare or gov/public options as a primary healthcare choice while supporting tax/levy funded municipal/county/state operated public safety forces. It is a reasonable obligation to expect Americans to fund these depts. via taxes in order to provide the required efficient response for all citizens regardless of what jurisdiction they may be in to deal with the random emergencies that happen whether it be a house fire, heart attack, weather related, car wreck.

  • Healthcare on the other hand,is more personal and your choice to get healthcare or the type of overall healthcare you choose is not a public safety issue, does not put the public at large in risk or in danger,is not an emergency situation that requires prompt, immediate action w/ no regard for profit,is not an obligation by the gov. to provide, and does not mainly deal in unplanned random events and the response to them as the core purpose and function of its existence.

  • The point being, the reason so many EMS,police and fire depts. are public is because they deal in emergency situations an provide constant, unbiased services to not only the community that funds them, but also any non resident in their jurisdiction.Imagine if you have a heart attack or get in a wreck in an area you dont live in and the FD end EMS that provided care for you was private& stuck you with a huge bill or didnt provide care because, well you dont live in that area and dont pay the fees

  • Hmmmm. Healthcare and public safety institutions (police, fire EMS) are two completely different beasts.Public safety deals with consistent emergency response, education and prevention to the public ,being ran by local, county or state agencies, providing response and expertise to unplanned events and how to prevent them .Healthcare is not itself as a whole a public safety issue(EMS AND ERs an exception),is far more expensive, more subject to abuse, and can be much more" customized" per person.

  • Simply awesome.

  • If you ran HC like FD that means you could buy insurance for for preventive care for your house. They would do routine checks to see if you are up to code are have bad wiring and fix it if you are not. They would give you fire extinguishers. and if your house caught on fire they would put it out and rebuild your house too. Just think of all the houses that would be saved from fires .

Thank SEIU what a great idea.

    or read below

  • If you have a business and the fire marshall comes to visit, and you are not up to code. Guess what they shut you down until you can pay to get if fixed. When you build a house there are codes you have to follow and you have to pay for that. The government doesn't pay? you to fix your problem. So if you compare government funded fire dept to gov run health care, that means all preventive and health problem you have the government will not pay for any of it unless you are dying within hours.

  • Im not trying to mock or insult, i would just like to know!

    Thanks!

  • warriorgal1 - who told you america has the best healthcare in the world????

The last set of tables regarding such a thing placed america at 49-50, somewhere in that region. France at the moment has what's recognised as the best healthcare and the system the have set up is a joint social/private initiative

  • Your facts are incorrect. WE THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN AND SAY HELL NO TO SOCIALIZED HEALTHCARE. ENOUGH! PASS H.R. 3400. TO HELL WITH OBAMACARE.

  • the rest of the people who have NOTHING to gain of course want SOCIALIZED healthcare. Why can't the Demos look at H.R. 3400? Why must we surrender the greatest healthcare in the world because 20 million (half of which don't want any healthcare anyway) don't have healthcare? I'm so sick of ghetto welfare state mentality. Why don't you rest of the people move to France. Govt, can't even do a "Cash for Clunkers" but YOU KNOW they are going to do right by grandma & grandpa. PLEASE!

  • So good.

  • Warriorgal, it's great to see non-socialist people out making their views known. I assume you've followed through on your beliefs and no longer use the police, fire, postal services, roads, schools, water, sewer, electric, hospitals, libraries, parks, buses, trains or any of the other socialist government programs?

    Moron.

  • We, the rest of the people, want a single-payer plan. Please begin one immediately! Thanks.

  • We his. 65% of Americans support his Healthcare. You get a life.

  • This is confusing...

  • Why can't she put out the fire by herself?

  • warriorgal is probably some retard from the private insurance companies, you know they hire people to spread their lies....

  • "Or better yet, tell Ted Kennedy and the REST of Congress to take Obamacare for themselves."

Public servants already have public health insurance like the public option you dumbass. Why do you think they have good health coverage?

And if you don't want public option in health insurance then you must not want public option in education either. Parents who can't afford to send their kids to private schools simply won't get education at all.

    Moron

  • Dude, you're an idiot!

  • Y'know, that's a wonderful lie, that whole "some politician" crap. I'm amazed anyone still believes it. My health care up here in Canada might be a little slow, but the only one who decides my treatment is a doctor. Feel free to keep up the fearmongering, though; I know you'd rather pay five or six times as much for private care that can be withdrawn without notice. Remember, profits are more important than people!

  • right now a bunch of insurance execs who have gold plated dinner plates for their meals brought to them on their private jets decide if you are going to get a kidney or lung... and they don't want you to. why? because that would cut into their $1.65B/year salaries. you are ALREADY the victim of profiteers trying to take your money without giving you care. and they're paying a LOT OF MONEY to trick you into thinking a system that puts them out of business would be worse. which it wouldn't. be.

  • This looks like the beginning of a porno.

  • Ha!

  • Pretty sure what they have proposed does not stop the people from going private they are just giving you a choice. US does not have the best healthcare system in the world and its not a matter of opinion google search all reports show that america has a poor healthcare system. Not saying that america doesnt have some of the best docters out there but as far as healthcare system its shocking and im glad that in the country im living in i do not need to pay thousands to get "maybe" treatment.

  • of course ameriaca has great docters!!! (that doesnt give a shit about us)

  • The Constitution does NOT promise Americans FREE healthcare. If the current administration would close our borders illegals wouldn't be able to destroy the best healthcare system in the world. My sister went to one of the TOP doctors in NYC because of breast cancer. She could NOT afford this doctor, he told her just pay me what you can. She has been faithful to do so and is so happy with her results!

  • So your sister is relying on the doctor's charity.

Jolly good show on the doctor's part, kudos to him, but you really call that the 'best healthcare system in the world'?

  • It's not free healthcare, its paid by tax revenues. The constitution does not promise Americans public education either, but somewhere along the line we decided it would be a good idea. I'm glad that your sister was able to get her treatment but unfortunately most people aren't as lucky.

  • A few Epic Governmental waste and failures

Welfare (If it was only for the poor, helped the Blacks? )

Dept. of Education (Teaching kids values and not knowledge. Hence this stupid video being appreciated )

Dept. of Defense: Trillions of dollars disappeared (enough to pay for health plan?)

Income Tax: initially to tax top 2% at no more than 7% (you can't make this shit up, really)

Amtrak: runs at a deicit and really sucks

USPS: 6 billion deficit last year.

    Hello? Is anybody home?

  • Hello? Chewbaca1989 ... is anybody home??? I suggest that you get off the pipe before you write anymore indecipherable rants. Oh yeah, and get an education.

  • Efficient agencies in the Federal Government?

    0

    Not one, zero.

Things government does well? Nothing, Zip, Zero, Nada.

  • You've got some Limbaugh jizz on your chin there chewbaca.

  • I applaud you for not using mindless platitudes or empty slogans to substitute for political debate.

I welcome your challenge, so you have a point?

Oh no, I'm not a Republicrat, or a Demopublican.

Though I believe that Liberalism and Conservatism have their virtues.

Question: Did you go to school in America? That might explain your assessing issues using a value system instead of knowledge.

It's hard to grasp this, but you are a product of the DOE.

No I don't listen to Limbaugh, I salute you

  • I applaud you for using mindless platitudes and empty slogans to substitute for political debate.

  • Touche'.

    Any way great comebacks.

DOE=value based learning, really I couldn't make this stuff I'm not that clever, I swear I'm not.

But if I misstated any thing I'd like you point it out.

1971 the Brenton Woods agreement was abolished, this lead to the private Federal Reserve making fiat currency.

Fiat currency, Monopoly money, is your dollar.

Historical fact: No nation that has gotten off the Gold standard has remained great. None, zip, zero, ninguna.

    I'm waiting.

  • I might also add, banal quips.

  • clever, ouch.

    Touche'.

  • Don't forget, gold is magical.

  • Wow, now your talking my language.

No not as magical as making Obamonopoly money out of thin air.

youtube: Argentina's economic collapse it's a documentary, I'm not sure it will hold your attention.

  • To you, the magnanumus jizz on the chin comeback champion, I concede.

To all those who have read this string I am a mental midget next to studio7manga.

I will now support even bigger government, I have seen the light.

Thank you or helping me see that I am wrong.

I salute you (with one finger)

  • He says to an empty room.

  • Touche'.

Thank you or the inspiration, I'm going to a rally today. I thought I'd stay home but I take your comment as challenge.

    Good luck to you.

  • A perfect waste of a day.

  • Well I only spoke to about 10 people personally explaining some I've told you about. I made some new friends that are activists over all it was pretty good. I had good time.

  • I watched the fireworks, ate some hot dogs, fucked my girlfriend and started working on a new design project for my business.

  • Hey, audio&manga, nobody gives a shit as you are clearly a mental midget and a moron. Seems that you may have already fucked your brains out. Good work.

  • "Hey, audio&manga, nobody gives a shit"

You apparently do since you responded.

Judging from the rest of your response you're also the type to be easily enraged by trivial things.

  • Awesome as always.

  • LOL! Republicanism is treason.

  • In the next video, please consider covering recission:

She's on fire, and the fireman arrives.

Everything is fine, she's covered, but the fireman decides to go online and check her records.

He finds out she once had sunburn as a 4-year-old, but didn't report it on her initial Fire Care application.

The fireman calls in to the station and the private Fire Chief cancels her coverage.

The fireman departs as she disappears in a cloud of smoke.

  • Much better scenario buchputz, thanks for that. It's much more accurate.

  • Get it through your head, government has not run anything you can point to with great success. A few being war and taxing.

Get it through your head, all the economic collapse has been predicted by economists that aren't in the government. You would think that the men Obama posted would be the ones that had been right.

Would you post the guys to treasury and the Fed that "never" saw this coming?

All this is a scam, if you can't see it, that's cool.

  • i like the internet. that came from the government. the federal highways are nice. they make all my groceries cheaper. I'm perfectly happy with all that research that came out of nasa, like you know... microprocessors (government funded grants)... it will take years to get us out of the mess bush made. years.

  • Heh, good video.

  • A real libertarian woman would have put the fire out by herself.

  • And performed her own open heart surgery as well I take it?

  • Too bad you can't put out cancer by yourself.

  • Walmart sells cancer extinguishers.

  • don't keep up on fire-fighting technology much, eh? While the R&D may be somewhat less than medical sciences there is a substantial public investment.

  • So why does the US spend twice as much as other "socialist" countries and get worse results? Our "free market" is the most inefficient system of the all industrialized countries.

This is not a debate about the kinds of treatment people get, it is a debate about giving people coverage in a more efficient way.

  • No, they don't think that it is the same, but they (I) do think that Americans (and non-Americans) should not die, simply because they don't pay some giant corporation a premium. We fund the defense department (Socialized war machine anyone?) and Republicans don't complain about that. Why is killing people more important than saving lives? The defense department is very overfunded, the U.S. has a military that could wipe out the world several times over. Divert the money from war to health.

  • Yes, but what if we need to wipe out ANOTHER world. there are countless planets in the sky, one of them is bound to harbor Islamo-fascist child raping commies and we have to be ready to nuke them into oblivion when we find them. (of course, the government of that planet will still provide health care for its citizens. Even Islamo-facist child-raping commies can't be completely heartless).

  • MAJOR DIFFERENCE BETWEEN---PRIVATE & PUBLIC---HEALTH CARE:

    PRIVATE:

Places the INSURANCE COMPANY between YOU & YOUR DOCTOR. The Insurance Company DECIDES what treatment they'll authorize & pay for, or what claim they'll deny & cancel the policy.

    PUBLIC:

Your DOCTOR is the one WHO DECIDES what treatment YOU require. NO profit involved. NO more red tape. NO begging with Insurance Co. for approval.

All SENATORS have a GOVERNMENT run PUBLIC PLAN !!

  • The republican party stands 4 the idea of individuals making as much money in the private sector as possible. The argument could be simplified down 2 healthcare being a right or privilege but at the end of the day their motto of pure capitalistic opportunities without government interference is their driving force. It's ironic cuz they claim 2 be the "moral" party but w/ this issue they're saying the greed of big insurance companies should be protected over the health of the people.

  • booooooo

  • its okay...if i come down with some kind of terminal virus and i cant afford to pay for treatment, i'll simply walk through the wealthy areas here in L.A. and lick the car door handles of the rich pricks who think health care is a privilege. i ain't goin out without taking some of them with me...scumbags

  • we cant have freedom for ALL americens. what kind of countrey would WE have, silly.

  • a good one

  • Now THAT's funny! and it makes about as much sense as the Preditory Corporate Healthcare we have now!

I guess people are OK with a Corporate Lawyer between YOU and your Doctor?

  • Well Said!!

  • Public Option = Public Choice

Stop privatization of profits and socialization of losses! Regulations simply don't reach deep enough to excise the cancer.

  • it's all about moneyyyy

  • Awesomeness!!!!

  • It's impossible!! What's the foot burn?

  • even the sky looks evil,at that iran thing going on

  • good yob

  • afawfe

  • This is so Galt.

  • you totally missed the point there. the point they were trying to make is that health care is a right and not a privilege.

the fireman was representing the current situation with the insurance companies calling all the shots.

  • ignorant uninformed people think they are covered. it is only when the crap hits the fan that they learn about gaps in coverage, or the insurance company drops them because they forgot to mention something in the application that had nothing to do with what their ailmen is now.

  • Oh, you mean rationed fire protection such as that provided by the brave federal firefighters that knock down forest and brush fires across the US? You should be ashamed

As for "rationed health care", when will the lies cease? Private insurance companies are rationing health care all the time. They decide which doctor you can see, what procedures you can receive and what prescriptions you can have. If they say no, you have to pay. That's the ultimate rationed health care-pay to play.

  • so the 60% of bankruptcies due to medical expenses should be ignored because you are all good with your coverage....got it....good to know

  • lol - you mentioning "rationing" discredits you right there.

  • Our system IS rationed, it is called profit rationing.

  • yes in fact i do trust the goverment more than the insurance companies, why ? because the goverment doesnt screw u over as much as the insurance companies and if u dont trust the goverment then wats the point of voting?

  • Comment removed

  • let's see, there are 48 million americans with no insurance, not all poor, some with pre-existing conditions but the premiums are so high they can't afford it.

yeah, free market working right there.

it's like burger places charging 500 dollars a burger and nobody else sells burgers. you would think they would go out of business...but wait they only sell $500 burgers to those they don't want to sell burgers to.

  • Did everyone miss my sarcasm regarding free market NUKES?

  • Hilarious. And unfortunately so true.

  • Comment removed

  • I've often wondered why conservatives and libertarians think the government is so much better to handle fire, police, and military, but health care is just impossible for the government to handle.

Based on overall measurements of our system of health care, the ONLY thing we're #1 in is the cost of care. We have the ability to give amazing care to people, so quality of care available might be #1 as well, but it's inaccessible to many which is why our system is #37 according to the WHO.

  • Was Nixon a democrat?

  • wrong- nixon introduced all that during his administration,on the advise of the permanente(sp?) group. and nixon was a r.e.p.u.b.l.i.c.a.n.

  • Well done. Terrific satire. So close to the truth! Good dialogue...so "adorable"...Superman's fortunes of solitude...

  • You should get out more Garey. Europe, Britain, Canada, Australia, New Zealand all have public health care. It really does go collar and tie with a civilized caring society and government. It does work and it works a damn site better than the non-existent system in the U.S. Latest polls show that over 70% of Americans want public health care, still I guess there are those who are still influenced by corporate and big insurance company interests.

  • Oh and you can fight City Hall. It's called voting. It's called democracy.

  • how can insurance deny your claim when you dont have coverage? that is the bigger issue. NO coverage. you have a very lame argument. mixing apples to oranges

  • So your insurance won't cancel or stop paying you if a doctor accidentally mentions cancer or any long term illness....It happens every day. If you live long enough you will need that coverage. Point is can you afford this type of coverage for your family?Check your policy of what is does not cover. Especially if you get it through your employer.

  • . i am passionate about health care reform. my point is- many people have NO coverage- cant get any. or- they cant get any that doesnt have huge gaps.ins. co's cant deny a claim from people who dont have any. people who do have insurance can benefit from reform. but for those who have done without adequate health care ,it is especially important. no-i didnt have health ins from my employer. after 17 yrs,of service,i was laid off (a few months ago). and- i worked in the health care industrry

  • So you would rather have corporations and lobbyists ru(i)n our lives? We've tried it that way lets try another way for once.

  • firejack007, I believe in free markets, but to tell you the truth, health care is a case that needs an injection of competition from a public plan option.

  • agreed

  • LOL...Republican Immitation... I know nothing about the proposal but Fox news says it is socialistic. So that is enough for me to run with on Youtube...

  • keep up the good work, your going to be a star.

  • How true, screw your health lousy American, we will only give Billions to companies that bankrupted themselves due to their own corruption! Now go steal from others so you can earn the right of salvation of American tax dollars! God Bless the rich.."and the home...of the...SLAVES"

  • HYSTERICAL! ...and true.

  • Please consider forwarding the video on.

  • Excellent.

  • Awesomeness!
