Thumbs up, but get a boat. Fords are known for rear dif seals going when you do shit like that. When your rear dif is hot, it will blow the seals and suck water in. I know, because I have a 2006 f150 with 75k on it and i have replaced 2 rear ends. I have owned Fords my whole life.
@johnh23 almost any truck can do that aslong as u raise the air intake he got lucky in one spot better to buy a snorkel if u like the water just dont make your own they look so fuckin dumb or get a lift on ur rig lol solves almost the same amount of probs lol
Its simple, Dodge is known for their lack luster tranny's, chevy/gmc generally has a bunch of little bullshit go wrong and ford's for some reason tend to rust bout as fast as the titianic... Now having said that Ford makes the most reliable, best looking half ton truck so FORD all the way!
@AnythingWeThinkOf yeah tranny seals tend to rot out by then, but like you said it's a pretty cheap fix. I actually regret selling my '89 F-250. solid truck, and pretty decent on gas too.
I've got a 1985 f150 with Ford's 300 I6... Before I owned it it had 3 previous owners.. My father, who used it as a wood truck up in the mountains where it was used heavily, and my father's friend along with his daughter. My dad's friend used it for the same purposes. The engine has been rebuilt once but the truck is solid, it could use a little body work and a new paint job but those have been paid for in labor. It's an amazing truck, I wouldn't get rid of it and buy a new truck if I could.
well all you boys should try and drive a KIA!!!! i would rather have a Ford, GM, or a Dodge......so i dont want to hear about reliability.....KIA...Killed In Action
huh, dodges always seem to give me problems. just worked on a couple last week. those things are built so cheaply it's not even funny. the one thing i like about dodge though is that they use the cummins, but their transmissions just defeat the purpose. and the new ford scorpion is going to give the cummins a run for its money, or at least so i hear.
Yeah Fords are like K mart cheap trucks. I just had my F250 in last week for a new transfer case @ only 40K. Typical Ford bullshit. Dodge actually has a great transmission, the same type build as GM and Ford, its just Dodge has much more power and people drive Dodges crazy. But I've went through more trannys with my Fords than my GMs and Dodges put together. Once again typical Ford bullshit.
ford's the best there is. never heard of them having any tranny problems, so either you're making that up or you just never service your fords. i have 3 fords, 2 f-150s and an f-250, plus another f-150, e-350, f-250, ranger, e-350, and a suburban in the past. suburban was the anti-christ, and the others are all still running to this day. and we used all of them to tow just about anything around and drive from 3,500 feet to 7,500 feet regularly. i know of tons of pos dodges. no build quality.
Yeah I know Fords are piece of shit trucks. They just feel cheap when you drive them compared to Dodge. Found on Road Dead is a fact, its in Fords genes. Our company actually stopped buying Fords after 2008 and just buys mostly Dodges and a couple GMs, just cause our Fords just couldn't hold up like our GMs and Dodges. But I guess we got what we paid for cause the Fords were the cheapest out of the bunch.
now i know you're just making it up. stem into any brand new or old GM next time you get to one. the door handles feel like they are going to fall off, the seats wobble, buttons and switches feel like they are going to fall apart, etc. go into a dodge, plastic feels rotten, seats are loose, and random stuff just falls apart from no cares in manufacturing, etc. wtf, coil link rear suspension on a truck? then go step into a ford. drives much better, interior is solid, frame is solid, etc.
i friends dad owns a construction company with about 15 pickups. They had problems with fords and stick to gm's and the dodges although the dodges are a little harder on gas
sounds like our company. Major issues with our Fords but nothing with our GMs and Dodges. though yeah the Dodges are hard on gas but its because theyre so damn torquey!
Your wrong on the build quality, our Dodges and theyre buttons, knobs, body, drivetrain, etc have held up great over the last 20-30 years. We have a couple old Power Rams with over 500K, pretty bad ass trucks. Our Fords are good too but they always have a bunch of small fucked up shit wrong with them, combined with some drivetrain problems over the years. Never ben a fan of any of Ford trucks engines either. Pretty generic.
well now you're talking about 20-30 year old trucks, where (although i still think ford was the best) every truck was good. i'm talking about mainly the new (early 90's to now). the only trucks i think are crap pretty regardless of the year are GM. ford also has great engines. 7.3 probably the best diesel ever made. gotta love the 302. 5.4 is actually a very good engine. 4.6 is one of the toughest engines you can buy. and those are only the newer engines.
there's a huge difference between old and new trucks. no company has held onto their quality from the beginning in the truck market (except GM, never made the best trucks, usually sort of in between).
No shit dude...but im saying Jeeps and Dodges have always been built more rugged than Ford or GMs, now thats a fact. Shit we had a Dodge Dakota with 450K, that just wouldn't quit and would go almost anywhere we pointed it.
@98MAzdaMilleniaS I've got a Cherokee. It's been the anti-christ of overheating problems. I mean, once you go through 3 thermostats, a water pump, head gasket, all new coolant lines, complete engine flush, new radiator, coolant bottle and cap, heater core, and countless gallons of water and antifreeze, you'd think it would take a few days of idling with the A/C on to get the temperature up to even 210F. But no, it takes all of 2 minutes with the heater on.
@supersnot4 That's funny because we have had 60 days of 100+ degree days this summer and it hasn't overheated once.... I have the towing package which has the trans cooler, if that has anything to do with it.... Earlier Cherokee(96' and earlier) did have overheating problems though.... I looked into that and bought a 99, also avoiding the cracked heads issue with the 00-01 and their changed lower steering pinion.
@supersnot4 My Mazda was the anti-christ of hell... Vacc leaks, faulty IAC valves, shit TB's, failing lysholm supercharger seals, MAF issues, etc. All these repairs totaled over $3800($2200 being a new supercharger). They talk about import being reliable and domestic being unreliable, and many people just assume.
@98MAzdaMilleniaS It's a '90 Cherokee, '88-'92 had the overheating problems due to the closed cooling system (real pain in the butt to fill with coolant to top it off). In '92 or '93 they switched back to the open (radiator cap on the radiator itself) cooling system, fixing the overheating. I love Jeep, but it's really getting frustrating. My '89 F-250 is pretty much bone stock (save for flowmaster exhaust and K&N air filter), and can climb a 7,500 foot mountain, towing, at 180F. And it's a 302.
No actually Ford does, I own Fords and in the 90s to 2004 Ford trucks had the worst reliability, and durability ratings by far, while Dodge, Jeep and GM trucks were holding together great, U statement must explain why I own Dodges with over 600k? The body is in great shape actually. I like my GMs too but my Fords are horse shit. I have one Ford that went past 180K...not bad! but my 90s Fords have shit out @ 150K
Our Ford products over 20 years have been nothing but shit. Great trucks until 80K then all hell brakes loose. Funny because it wasn't just one Ford but consistently with all of our Fords, I guess its just the Found on Road Dead genes...
@supersnot4 got to agree, ford makes a pretty solid car. had a merc grand marquis back int he 80's, and a 95 windstar and a 03 explorer that we still have now. The windstar gave us tranny problems after about 100,000 but that was to be expected. we never got a tranny cooling package, and we towed way too much weight behind it for way too many years, and with the more powerful 3.8, that just was too much for it. had it had an appropriately sized tranny it would still be around today.
@KingofComputing yeah we have an '07 and '08 F-150, still new of course, but they are both used to tow on a regular basis, and the '07 is loaded at all times with a 30gal sprayer, large chemical box where the tailgate is supposed to be, and a ladder rack with 2 ladders. the '08 only has the 4.6l V-8. I just sold my '89 F-250 automatic 5.0, which was used to tow the most. 5,000lb empty dump trailer with Kubota tractor, and it got the job done with absolutely no problems. granted it had 3 coolers.
@supersnot4 all the trucks are top notch. i see many 150K+ mile f150s around for sale on craiglist for 3-4K and they still run strong. our 2003 explorer has 95K miles on it and has been neglected a lot of maintenance. two oil changes and never changed the transmission fluid or had it in for it's 30K mile checkup. the bearings went in the wheels at 90K but that's the only thing. our well maintained 95 windstar gave up often. ford trucks are strong just not the small cars crown vic is beast though
@supersnot4 You obviously don't look very hard because the 2004 F150 (unfortunately the one I inherited from my father) has had all sorts of issues due to a design fault on Fords part. Did they ever recall it? Hell no, they kept it under wraps just like the window motor malfunctioning on thousands of vehicles. My tranny went out at 59,000 and I had to have it rebuilt. I use to love Ford but after paying $1500 for something that should have been recalled I'm not sure I'll be coming back.
@EMOSCANBURN "Unfortunately the one I inherited from my father"...
Really? You got a free truck, a mere 7 years old at the most, and you're calling it "Unfortunate". That first sentence just tells me you're unappreciative and spoiled. I don't care if it was a Yugo, I would be thankful for ANY free car.
You post a video of this "unfortunate" F-150, then get back to me. Because until then, I don't believe a word you just said. Even if it was true, I don't think you're telling the whole story.
@supersnot4 All I was saying is it was unfortunate that I inherited the specific model year that has the majority of the problems. I am grateful for everything I have so save your speech for somebody else.
Why would I lie about the transmission problems with the 04's? My tranny went out at 59,000 and I did a considerable amount of research on the subject and it was because of a design flaw on Ford's behalf. If you don't believe me do a little research yourself before calling me a liar jackass.
@EMOSCANBURN So what exactly went wrong with your tranny? I couldn't find any common defects in my research. I'm sure if you got it fixed you would have liked to know what was wrong with it.
@supersnot4 If I recall correctly the OD band is made out of a cheap and thin metal in the 04's and this is the cause of most tranny problems. In my case the OD band broke which caused a whole mess of problems with everything else. But even with cheap OD bands in the tranny's Ford still has less tranny problems than Dodge so in the end I still love my truck and will probably never drive anything else.
Forsd are ok trucks, but our company got them because they were so cheap. But now theyve fuckin cost us so much money in repairs over the years we are only buying the trucks that have been reliable, GMs and Dodges.
first of all the "power wagon" is only avalible in gas. plus it only a locking REAR diff not front. soo ya its not a true 4X4 like a ford super duty or a jeep
WTF are you talking about, the Power Wagon has both front and rear lockers dumbass including the best 4X4 to date. Jeep and Dodge are the same company. Fords are nothing like a Jeep or Dodge off road. period.
and alright ill admit it dont know that the power wagon had both front and rear but why does dodge have just one truck with that setup? thats the downside imo. they only come with gas engines. all 4x4 superdutys come with both so thats why i think ford is beter
ya but i pull a 13000 lbs boat and about 30k of the miles on the truck r pulling that boat plus it pulled a cat d3 wide track dozer about 500 miles to the dear lease a fue times
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
That can be fun, but its actually really bad for the environment. An article in our local paper explained a lot about where its okay to go off roading and how you shouldn't go in rivers or streams and you should just stick to trails that have already been made instead of making your own trail. Just a heads up

In my case the OD band broke which caused a whole mess of problems with everything else. But even with cheap OD bands in the tranny's Ford still has less tranny problems than Dodge so in the end I still love my truck and will probably never drive anything else.

that was the most stupid thing i've ever heard!
jholde04 2 years ago
Forsd are ok trucks, but our company got them because they were so cheap. But now theyve fuckin cost us so much money in repairs over the years we are only buying the trucks that have been reliable, GMs and Dodges.
MPLSTORM 2 years ago
Funny, because you said somewhere else that you never will nor had a Ford.
ScorpioFuror 2 years ago
hey nice f150, fuck all the haters man, i don't see them making a video of their trucks doing this.

its funny how chevys and fords always pull dodges out
cg2012 2 years ago 2
no they don't lol Dodge trucks have the best 4x4. Power Wagon is king.
MPLSTORM 2 years ago
how does dodge have the best 4X4? ford and jeep r the only ones with locking hubs.can u get out and lock the hubs on ur dodge?? didnt tink so
awhoop09 2 years ago
two words dumb ass, POWER WAGON
MPLSTORM 2 years ago
first of all the "power wagon" is only avalible in gas. plus it only a locking REAR diff not front. soo ya its not a true 4X4 like a ford super duty or a jeep
awhoop09 2 years ago
WTF are you talking about, the Power Wagon has both front and rear lockers dumbass including the best 4X4 to date. Jeep and Dodge are the same company. Fords are nothing like a Jeep or Dodge off road. period.
MPLSTORM 2 years ago
then explan to me why just last week i had to pull out my uncles dodge3500 at his deer lease
awhoop09 2 years ago
thats a heavy truck, the 3500's aren't as good off roading.
MPLSTORM 2 years ago
and alright ill admit it dont know that the power wagon had both front and rear but why does dodge have just one truck with that setup? thats the downside imo. they only come with gas engines. all 4x4 superdutys come with both so thats why i think ford is beter
awhoop09 2 years ago
Its all good, both Dodge and Ford have there ups and downs but Ford is too unreliable for me, even though I still own Fords...
MPLSTORM 2 years ago
ya i agree i like the cummins 5.9 but not the 6.7 and fords new 6.4 has so many problems.but my 6.0 has over 100000 and it still runs great
awhoop09 2 years ago
@awhoop09 lol 100K aint shit dude...
MPLSTORM 2 years ago
@awhoop09
I have HEMIs with over 250K and that mileage still isnt a lot.
MPLSTORM 2 years ago
ya but i pull a 13000 lbs boat and about 30k of the miles on the truck r pulling that boat plus it pulled a cat d3 wide track dozer about 500 miles to the dear lease a fue times

That can be fun, but its actually really bad for the environment. An article in our local paper explained a lot about where its okay to go off roading and how you shouldn't go in rivers or streams and you should just stick to trails that have already been made instead of making your own trail. Just a heads up
2003DodgeHemi 2 years ago
dude you take advice from ur local paper....cmon, how do think those first trails got there, by making them, thats what this guys doin
