I always feel that reality shows for this kind of thing is like broadcasting a freak show. (I don;t think they are freaks, but if yo think about it, why don't i have a reality show? @freelancelady: FYI Jim bob owns real estate and was mayor of a town or something at some point. So the Duggars were just fine b4 the TV show. The first show of them was about them building their dream house...so they were/are doing good finacially I'm sure.

But yes, they were doing fine financially before the show came along. In fact, if I remember correctly, they had already started building their house in the first special way back in 2004.

People who are uncomfortable with our decision to not allow our son to watch kiddy shows with commercials like to try to make us feel like hypocrites because he watches sporting events which are loaded with commercials selling alcohol.
