I strongly suggest for people to search for the research of Dr. LIDY PELSSER who heads the ADHD Research Centre in the Netherlands. She had proven that 64% of kids who were diagnosed with ADHD simply had food allergies, and that eliminating it took the ADHD away. It was published in Lancet - "Effects of a restricted elimination diet on the behaviour of children with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (INCA study) a randomised controlled trial" + "Diet May Help ADHD Kids More Than Drugs"
@tonymalone501 If you mean the fact animal products are not healthy to us (as was talked about in "The China Study") than I totally agree. but sometimes it's not only the animals protein that people have a reaction to, and I wanted to bring a link to a research that proves the fact ADHD is reversible without drugs. Thanks for the comment!
This person is a nutjub; he appears to be anti-vaccine, and some other crap that isn't in the peer reviewed literature - you know, the real part of science, where all claims are verified...
@Jotto999 His research and the research of his peers is peer reviewed, it is called the Journal of Lancet. If you want to remain ignorant of the coming paradigm shift of holistic health then be my guest, but don't pretend your view is the only one that has been verified by science. If you have some courage to look into how the pharmaceutical companies have hijacked the health care industry then you'll watch the documentary "Dr. Burzynski" on youtube and learn.
If there were more holistic doctors like Mark Hyman, the world would be a healthier place! Med schools take the wrong approach and most doctors like the "band aid" effect , plus it's easier to dispense meds. How many times have patients taken a more holistic approach, changed their diets and returned to tell their doctors , only to find their conventional doctors uninterested in knowing what they did to cure themselves? Disappointing!

[Edited version of a previous comment] Those living near where Mark Hyman practices will tell you that he does a lot of talking (and doodling) but not much else. Mark Hyman diagnoses and treats in proportion to what he can get away with, plus what he knows you can afford. And he will do all this via trying to avoid blood and imaging laboratories.
How disturbing that Mark Hyman used a minor child to illustrate what is essentially a sales-pitch for medical quackery!
@0ViewTube0I know very little about this guy other than what I've seen here. Can you provide a link to show how and where TED has distanced themselves from Dr. Hyman? Have they made a statement? It must have been very recent because they (TED) posted this just months ago and have not pulled it down or qualified any statements of his. I'm just trying to identify if your comments are of a personal nature or impartial and based on some evidence. Thanks.
@goldenhopper Thank you. I was referring to what I had read about TED itself. However, your inquiry has prompted me to now see that TEDMED (a separate yet sanctioned entity of TED) does endorse Mark Hyman. With that, I will delete my comment and rewrite it leaving out the last part - since it seems not completely verifiable. But trust me, Mark Hyman is nothing short of a quack doctor who barely has any medical credentials and is really nothing more than a supplement salesperson.
@0ViewTube0 Yeah, I've seen a lot of that too. That said I do think medicine must go in this direction. I'm just trying to figure out how much of it is going to be a reality in the next 10 years or so. I'm sure much of what he says here is hyperbole when in comes to the current administration of these therapies. It will get better and more valid with time and research. I'm being seen by a similar doc. She's ordered more labs and tests than any MD I’ve seen. Also, she has been realistic. Hoping.
@goldenhopper I’m assuming you’re having physical issues, and for that I wish you well. But please, be wary of things like ‘functional medicine’ or ‘personalized medicine.’ These are merely catch phrases of doctors who must heavily market their medical practices.
Hyperbole, you say? Definitely! Especially the part where Mark Hyman says, “…we do it through extensive laboratory testing.” No, he doesn’t. I know for a fact Mark Hyman does nothing like that.
Just yesterday (6/23/11) I asked the Dr. if there are any home remedies for simple poison ivy and all she said was "you know I can't do that, I can only prescribe drugs". Wow I thought this is really said so I said absolutely not. I Love this man and the changes he is creating. I wish more Dr's thought like him so society can prevent disease.
I love Mark Hyman and have been following him but this was just brilliant! It's the answer to our healthcare problems. Thank you Kris Carr for the link! Let's get healthy together!

Some people want young white females to mix with non-white males.
I made a one-minute video highlighting a very small sample of race-mixing advertisements.
I love white people, and I am opposed to race-mixing. But I do not hate non-whites.
If you click on my name “awhitesoul2012” highlighted in blue below this comment, you can watch my video.
Thanks.

I like the thought process but if you could bypass the military all together that would get rid of the list

Is there a place to go that lists doctors who practice functional medicine?

@neoautism if you do the research that follows you find another animal all together that causes the alergies

He is against medicine. The medicine he uses to treat people is normal hormones that our body produces on its on. Not made up stuff like Viagra.

Thank-you for this talk Mark . I am being treated by a functional medicine medical Dr
I live in a small community that lives in the medical past and they are very resistant to the new stuff . This was so refreshing and encouraging .
