  • Hey man I'm looking at the tabs but I don't seem to find the intro/solo anywhere. What's up with that?

  • you forgot the B string in the intro ...leadguit

  • This is easily the best cover of this song I've ever seen! I wanna try and do a split screed cover like that some day! Check out my bands cover of this song we did for our school talent show if you want!

  • very very good cover. what model les paul are you using?

  • god damn bad cover

  • lead guitar sounds awful and i play drums

  • you make it seems so easy XD

  • thats the same guitar as Tims from rise against right? How much did you get it for??? I want one so bad!!

    btw, great cover!! :D

  • Love this song!!!! Great cover

  • how did you get the actual song to play in the backround?

  • You're awesome. Just... amazing.

  • Umm I Can play the song and all, but I'm not good with amps and I can't get it to sound just right. Help me!?

  • @PaintBall3R64 haha sure, for Rise Against songs it's good to having setting similar to this:

    Gain/Overdrive: 7-8

    Treble: 9

    Bass: 6.5-7

    Middle: 8

    Try that! :D

  • @overdriveisclassy

    NICE WITH A MARSHALL IN OD´2 !

  • @overdriveisclassy hmmm... i use this:

    Gain/overdrive: 100%

    treble: 95%

    Bass: 100%

    Middle: 0%

And it sounds like rise against !!

  • @facta8 well with different amps I would guess different settings would work better, but never put your mids beneath 5! If you ever play with a drummer or a band you'll find out that without mids nobody can hear the guitar over the other instruments! You'll try to max out your amp but it won't work

The bass guitar and bass drum overpower the bass tone and the crashes overpower a lot of the treble. It's a really common mistake for guitarists to scoop the mids! You need them though

  • @overdriveisclassy Nonsense. You just need a proper amp and/or closed cabinets.

  • @overdriveisclassy thanks a lot for the advise, I'm gonne turn my mids up the next time we jam ;)

hopefully I'm gonna hear my guitar then :D

  • @facta8 with no mids its going to sound quite thrash metal-like but without the higher level of volume i.e muddy or harsh. Solos in fact often require a boost pedal to make the mids stand out even more

  • @PaintBall3R64 i usse for this song treble at 9 mid at 4 adn bass a 7 and it sounds great

  • F*cking brilliant!!!!!!! :D :D could you do a vid, of just the top guitar with all the little high notes in the intro showing how to play it? :)

  • ok cover, it would have been better if it wasn't for the epiphone... i hate epiphone:P and the silverburst, i hate silverburst...

  • What a small biceps :D ...Im jus kidding. Great cover :)

  • what program did you use to do this kind of splitting? great cover btw

  • @jethro013 Thanks! I used Sony Vegas Pro 10! They have a free trial on their site, I think it's great! :D

  • @overdriveisclassy

i tried downloading it but it requires SP2 for my WinXP hahah! thanks tho,

anyways, this is the most decent guitar cover of this song i've seen so far! you are indeed a very talented musician! keep it up man :D subd

  • @overdriveisclassy how do you do the split though i have it and cant figure it out?

btw watching you do this taught me the whole song so thankyou:)

  • you're missing the palm muted notes in the intro otherwise a good cover

  • You did the opening lead wrong, other then that, its amazing.

  • It's a pretty good cover, but the lead part needs some work. You left out A LOT. The opening riff (and every time your repeated it in the chorus) you cut out out 2/3 of the notes.

  • @iAv3s This is true. I'm adding a message to the vid, thanks. (An important thing to note though is that the other 2/3 of notes are hidden under the power chords and the general public won't notice them)

  • @overdriveisclassy i noticed. >< still loved this cover.

  • is that a nylon string guitar?

    Awesome cover by the way!!

  • what type of guitar is that?

  • @xxsashaschannelxx Epiphone Les Paul Custom Silverburst! It's excellent! :D

Also I have all my equipment listed on my channel page

  • @xxsashaschannelxx epiphone les paul custom silverburst, amazing :)

  • i was like wtf is that addinal sound first but than i reallized the guitar was even better here than in the real music video :D

  • @habibi2834 Wow! Thanks a lot man! :D

  • Totally AWSOME! Loved it! :D

  • really cool :D i know nothing about guitars but THAT WAS REALLY GOOD! xD

  • i know how to play the intro it is acctually supprisingly easy im working on a vid now i am also waorking on a hero of war vid

  • i love the color of your guitar :O :)

  • Nice. I commented damn it watch mine now

  • how to make that vid? .. i mean to combine ?.

  • @shotiGADIL Sony Vegas Pro 10 is what I used (There is a 30 day free trial on their site)

  • @overdriveisclassy tnx man :)

  • nice cover :)

  • AWESOME. One correction though man, for the rhythm parts. The first chord, which is a higher E(index finger on the 9th fret, ring finger on the 7th), youre not supposed to go a whole fret down for the second chord, youre supposed to keep your index finger on the 9th fret, and the ring finger to 6th. Sounds MUCH better trust me. Awesome guitar though, just like Tim's xD

  • @bulletsandserenades Ah thanks! You are probably right, it is pretty rare that someone would actually bring the whole chord down a fret from the root XD (Because it sounds really weird usually, plus Chris Chasse has done the root/sixth thing before quite a few times)

Anyway so thanks, hopefully I won't make the mistake again! And yes! haha it is a great guitar

  • <3 this song :) Nic job, I want a pod :(

  • I'm diggin the sound quality, and the editing. What do you record your audio with?

The guitar playing was solid, the lead/chorus is a bit more complicated than you play it. There are more notes to hit in between each note that you played. Everything else, including the solo, was great though. How long have you been playing for?

  • @ABRParkwayDrive Thanks! I record with the Line 6 Pod X3

And yeah, I saw the guitar pro tab that had those extra notes but I never really noticed them, I just played it how I hear it! :P

And thanks again! ha I have been playing for a little over two years! :D

  • @overdriveisclassy Yeah, those little in between notes can be a tad hard to hear. After about 2 years of playing ( Mostly Rise Against and Franz Ferdinand stuff) I got into heavier music ( August Burns Red and Parkway Drive)

I found it an awesome challenge. It really improved my playing, and my ear to hear all of those in between notes

Been playing for just about 3 years now

  • ive decided to learn this song after seeing you play it lol

  • Got this from your RB.com post, very nice.

  • Great job! If I could make one suggestion, I'd downstrum a bit more, but it's still a very good cover, nice job on the split screen.

  • @yurifanforever I never thought I'd see the day where someone said I should downstrum more!!!! :D (I am definitely showing my guitar teacher this XD)

haha but yeah I am always up for suggestions, which parts do you think could use some more downstrumming?

  • @overdriveisclassy It's punk rock, so almost all of the rhythm should be downstrummed ;)

BTW, this is anime from RB.com, where's those vocals for learn to fly?! :p

  • @yurifanforever Yeah, my guitar teacher jokes with me about how I always downstrum because of playing so much punk XD

I am mixing it up though :P

    And I know! :P

  • Thats skill right there!

  • Awesome!

  • It's too cool! I got a Blue Screen of Dead while watching it, it's too epic for my PC xD

  • EEEEPPPIIICCCCNNEESSSSSSSSS :D

  • This is epic man, good job! And I see you stole Tim's guitar!!

  • @FerrarimadAitken You bet I did! :D

haha, but actually I went to Guitar Center and tried out a bunch of different ones and this guitar always caught my eye. I thought I could never afford it though (It looks way too awesome, I thought it was a Gibson too). Well it turns out it was just an extremely beautiful Epiphone and I could afford it! :D

But I also like having the same guitar as TIm, he has good taste :P
