2.2.2009. All the democrats should help and vote for the one and only beloved republican Attorney General the speedy Gonzales. Its the only way to get a bipartisan vote! Maybe even a 100% from the republican side?
So the media is finally paying attention to Obama's favorable poll ratings. They sure took their time. Rasmussen and Gallup have been reporting that the Blago scandal has had no impact on Obama's ratings for a month now. But the media continued its "distraction" bullshit. Blago's a legit story unquestionably but the only one distracted by it are the pundits. The rest of us are still squarely focused on the Dow and Nasdaq.
Will the republicans obstruct? OF COURSE. It's what they do. They have no ideas, but they hate any type of government action. Get ready for four years of fillibustering.
Bush is an idiot but don't blame this crisis on the republicans. The democrats are responsible for freddie/fannie the largest contributors to the crisis. the Democrats drafted and push the "sale"out oh sorry bailout bill and isn't it interesting that Bernard Madoff, biggest fraud in history donated heavily to democrats. Things that make you go hmmmmm! WAKE UP PEOPLE!
If you really think that the housing crisis is the problem, then you're really not paying attention. Freddie/Fannie is a disaster, in it's own right, albeit a very small one. Truth be told deregulation is the problem. Wall street has been selling fictional paper for years, and it's all coming to a head now.
This disaster is firmly rooted in Reaganomics. Your economy has been faltering since the early 80s, and it just seems noone wants to say it.
We as Americans don't care Obama is a target for any and all old school politicians that want him to fail. I wish this much energy was put behind the lies of the bush administration that were proven.
Left, right, center, left moving to center, center left, center right, moderates, think, think yak, yak, question answer question answer think think think. Jesus! Its not that complicated! Justice, fair wages, safe environment. There isn't NEARLY as much disagreement in the country as the press makes out.
Very VERY well said, the press is interested in generating interest in their product, scandals, but we are interested in our Countries and yes, the Worlds woes brought on by decades of foolish choices. Lets just send them a message and tune out in droves when they play these foul games.
Plutonwolf: Thank you. And the press sells a dangerous environment because danger=attention=ratings=advertising revenue. Therefore the more danger (scandal, woes, etc) the more money. So everyone thinks "its all bad out there". ITS NOT. There are bad things, but what about the overwhelming number of good things? How many people kicked drugs in 2008? No one knows. Wouldn't that be news too? Does the captain of a ship need to know only when there's a storm coming? Isn't good weather worth knowing?
Indeed, there ARE many good things to celebrate and we never hear of them. But what concerns me the most is the free pass the previous crews corruption has received while Barack has corruption charges being leveled at him before he even takes office. Whats up with that?
Here's what I think: if you take a small group of people, like a dozen, and they're constantly not getting along somebody's doing it on purpose. I think if you expand that size of group to a country the same thing is true, the trouble is being caused on purpose. I think the Romans were right, "Cui Bono?" meaning "who benefits?", a way to discover the causes for things. Just look at who benefits to find the real reason and the "who" that is causing it. Takes some looking, but its there.
My previous reply was a bit flippant and sarcastic, though not at all directed at you. I know exactly who is stirring the pot and precisely for what purpose. Very well heeled groups have deep interests in seeing the greater mass of America at each others throats over spurious issues while they put in place laws and organizations that will suck the very life from America and probably most of the rest of the world. Remember this always, The MSM including MSNBC are owned by Corporations *cont*
and as such, their best interests are served by laws and rules that do not benefit the average guy and if you think they will tolerate their employees going against their best interests you are badly deceived. Much hoopla was directed at the supposed media bias in Obamas favor and yet it turns out when this was fact checked by independent research to be the exact opposite. We are being spoon fed dis-info meant to make us act against our own best interests and I actually think it's working.

Eugene Robinson is ridiculous. Does ANYONE actually think that Obama had anything to do with the Blagojevich scandal?
