what a fab tune, if this can't get your feet going then what can? anyway thank you very much for taking me back thirty years - i've still got that fast feet moves, even at fifty, that's what happens when you look after yourself, as the saying goes "that's what soul, funk, jazz, fusion & disco funk does for you. Happy man I am.
I used to listen to Robbie on a Saturday morning: he played the real cream and occasionally some of the more unusual ones. I recall him playing Manhattan Transfer (Twilight zone Twilight tone) and the Pretenders version of Grace Jones Private lives.
Shari, it was massive at Gullivers in the West End. Hey Herts, don't forget Robbie Vincent's show on Radio London on Saturday mornings (11.30am to 2.00pm) to get all of us funksters started on a Saturday
@agfagaevart ........ Don't forget the one and only Robbie Vincent on Radio London every Saturday from 11.30 am to 2.00 pm; keeping London REALLY FUNKY back in the day !!!! Big up !! LOL.
@agfagaevart ... One of the CLASSIC lines of the 70's funk era. Luv it !!! Lemme remind you of another SERIOUS funk jam you may not have heard in a longggggg time. Check out "Chance With You" by Brother To Brother.
BTW, do you remember a Sat night / Sun morning soul show on radio London (I think), which would rundown the latest singles in the "Disco chart"? I think it was on between 11pm and 1am, during the early '80s. Does that ring any bells??
The Royalty in Southgate, with Froggy and Greg Edwards? Can't really remember, but I remember dancing to it....... Saw the Jacksons there (without Michael), but they weren't that famous back in the day..... they had bodyguards in the upstairs bar, but no one was that bothered... how weird!
Yea rem this well, Royalty Friday night Palmers Green funkateers, whata a tune this and Frank Hooker This feeling, Al Hudson You can do it, Kleeer Get Tough, pounding from their soundsystem at the time the best in the country, best days of my life..
Hey agfagaevart, Back in the day, the best disco in town WAS...The...Best....Disco ....in...town....!!!! At the Lyceum in the Strand....Did I see you there? Did you dance till you dropped like it did? The Fuel of sweet sweet memory.....burning bright into 2011....Just heard Tina Marie moved on today...so young....far far to early...RIP Tina....

This was one of the tracks played at the first club I ever went to in '79/80. Always remember being completely knackered by the end.
Love the way this track takes me right back to being 16. I'd go back in a heart beat if I could.
