I did put my I7 920 to 3,4Ghz on Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R motherboard and then i get bluescreen and i say byebye to 2 of my OCZ Gold DDR3 1333Mhz 2gb memories xD
I got my i7 920 to run at 4ghz stable....I dropped it back to 3.6ghz though, there was an article on Toms Hardware where they compare efficiency at different clocks speeds...seems like 3.6 is the sweet spot for i7 920's.I'm running the multiplier @ 18x with the bclk @ 200 you can run your ram at 1600 that way.The cpu voltage is @ 1.25 volts,my motherboard is the Asus p6x58d premium ;)
@XLr8r2006 Just goin over this video etc and this is so off scale.. I did alot of extensive research on this and at idle @ 1.35v with +24mv (no slope) and power settings to low and windows cpu settings to 65%min and 100%max the i7920 uses 48watts on idle and 150watts on full load. To XLr 3.6 is max recommended for air cooled, 4.4Ghz is max I could get mine to run without going over factory voltage ratings on a liquid cooled system. Just a little fyi.

Good Vid and Review. Love this processor. Only thing is when my parents found out I was gay they took my i7-920 pc from me and I was forced to move out to my boyfriend's house.
Yea I've done some research now and from what I've seen from maximum pcs overclock of the 920 this guy overclocking it and many others 3.66 at 1.35V core seems to be the highest truly stable overclock 4.1ghz will work but you will face os corruption and data loss soon, along with a short life span.
K then it should be easy for me to get my i7 920 from 2.66 to 3.5ghz with a zalman 9900 and Gigabyte X58 UD3R n 3gb of ram right? I mean it's not as intense as what he has but it won't fry right?
i7 (D0) 920 @ 3.2 GHz at the moment. Simple clocking without any voltage tuning. Stable at the moment. Noctua NH-U12P SE1366 installed but stock cooler should do the the job just fine
Hey, I just made a video of me overclocking my I-7(920) using 2 freezers...one for the north/south bridge and the other for the i-7 CPU. Could you check it out and tell me what you think. Its called "Overclocking I-7(920) using two Freezers"
you should be... you dont need 1200w for ocing to 4,1ghz but it depends on what psu you have aswell... but if you have a corsair its all good if its another i might take a look into it...
@toymeekai07 i recomend going down to 4.0 GHz maybe 4.04 GHz i find it alot cooler running it at 4.04 GHz and the performance difference is much from a 4.1 Ghz

Don't be sure! The stock cooler might make it, but it wont be pretty. :)
Get an aftermarket cooler

Anything over 4GHz is very touchy and tempermental. You should get it, but I suggest taking notes. To each their own.
