EJ was so smooth and unassuming. One of my favorite Laker. Eddie and Nick was such an exciting back court. Trading EJ was one of my worst days as a Laker fan.
I'm not and will never be a Laker fan again considering the way they're winning games with the refs right now, but I'll forever be an Eddie fan. Man I miss his days with Grant Hill, Penny, and all their contemporaries. Great vid. Thanks for posting. At last another EJ Mix.
I love the NBA at 50 emblem for the 96'-97' season... I really started following the NBA that year as a young kid. In retrospect that Lakers team had so much talent compared to majority of the teams that year - Rookie Kobe, 24-25 year old Shaq, Nick the quick, Eddie Jones (97' and 98' all-star), Elden Campell, An old but still effective Jerome Kersey, Cedric for half the season, Byron , and lets not forget the explosive Clorie Blount and Sean Rooks (Scarcasm for those last two names).
thank again for your great laker videos. Eddie was so explosive back in the day. That dunk from just inside the free throw line is one of the greatest poster dunks ever!
@MrMagic2worthy Well said. I am proud to call NPZ a friend in real life. He has brought joy to many a Laker fan w/ his videos (we're up to 187 of these youtube creams now). What sets him apart from the likes of the childish LD2K is that he lets his footage do the talking. No silly special FX or shithead music, just pure hi-lites. Chick Hearn is the only background sound you need on a compilation like this. I can tell you, BTW, that NPZ is just as big a star away from youtube as he is on it.

The problem with keeping Jones is that he and Kobe were fighting for the same minutes; it'd sort of be like the modern day problem of having Lebron and D-Wade on the same team, two guys who need the ball in their hands. That being said, I don't think we should lament too much that Eddie left, given the 2-Guard that ultimately took his place. (However, I do admit that Glen Rice was an unmitigated disaster and should have kept Eddie regardless...)
after watching these clips, i'm still mad the lakers traded eddie jones before he was in his prime and that scrubs like vujacic wore a lakers jersey and got 2 rings. sickening!
THANK YOU for this, NPZ. It has always bothered me that the only worthwhile Eddie vid on youtube is the one uploaded by the thieving cunt xmykro THAT YOU CREATED. This one, praise Allah, is DOUBLE the length. I applaud you for adding the npz tags at the bottom of the video. Sick and tired of seeing you put in work and other twits getting credit for it.
Eddie's dunks were incredible and he never seemed to care if the attention was on him. real humble just went on to the next play.
