It's obvious to me that a large percent of the black race like living this sort of poverty life. They glorify it in their music, their movies, and the way they act in general. Poverty plays into this as well, when minimum wage is 7.25cents. When the price of living has jumped 4 times. Jobs shipped overseas, more homeless people everyday, food stamp recipients go up millions each month. College tuition goes up by law each year, when college books are to expensive. Too many part time jobs, instead of full-time jobs with benefits. College loan debt now exceeds credit card debt. Car insurance is mandatory, health care cost are ridiculous, and food has doubled in pricing.
CNN did an experiment asking black kids around 5 yrs old questions by showing them pictures of whites and blacks. They asked the children who was beautiful and who wasn't. All the blacks kids said the white pictures were beautiful and the blacks pictures weren't. How is it these kids feel this way? That proves our society isn't equal, and just because Obama's in office doesn't mean we've made it. Today muslim Americans are feeling the same unfair experiences blacks have felt for centuries.

I was born on the reservation in North Dakota. I am Sioux. I have a Masters in Economics. We didn't choose what race, what sex, or what being we were going to be. Life's a mystery. We all are on this planet together so are we not supposed to interact? Its impossible. This country is has a sad history that coming back to haunt it. At one time it was illegal for a black person to read, and if you picked up a book you could be hung. Then look at the environments most minorities live in, theres liquor stores, pawn shops with guns, drug dealers, prostitutes, etc. Slavery was for 200 yrs and that has long term effects so this goes deeper. Poverty plays into this as well, when minimum wage is 7.25cents. When the price of living has jumped 4 times. Jobs shipped overseas, more homeless people everyday, food stamp recipients go up millions each month. College tuition goes up by law each year, when college books are to expensive. Too many part time jobs, instead of full-time jobs with benefits. College loan debt now exceeds credit card debt. Car insurance is mandatory, health care cost are ridiculous, and food has doubled in pricing.

CNN did an experiment asking black kids around 5 yrs old questions by showing them pictures of whites and blacks. They asked the children who was beautiful and who wasn't. All the blacks kids said the white pictures were beautiful and the blacks pictures weren't. How is it these kids feel this way? We didn't choose what race, what sex, or what being we were going to be. Life's a mystery. We all are on this planet together so are we not supposed to interact? Its impossible. In my opinion we are better off for interacting, but to me our origins kind of set us up for confrontation. He also was a green beret in Vietnam, & my mother was a north Korean woman who lived in a terrible communist country. She fled to south Korea, but almost got killed for fleeing during the Korean War. Not all blacks stood up for civil rights.Just like every group that has been oppressed. Some fought back like MLK and Malcolm X. This country is has a sad history that coming back to haunt it. At one time it was illegal for a black person to read, and if you picked up a book you could be hung. Then look at the environments most minorities live in, theres liquor stores, pawn shops with guns, drug dealers, prostitutes, etc. Slavery was for 200 yrs and that has long term effects so this goes deeper. When a white person does or says something really ignorant I know their waiting for me to chimpout but I choose to be calm and act like a lady. This way their the ones who look low class. It's not so much that being born out of wedlock that hurts us it is the mentality that goes along with it that hurts us. 70% of the prison inmates are the sons of single mothers.

@IsDaMicOn78 Yes there is a skyrocketing divorce rate but at the very least these people are trying to make it work. It's easy to give up and ignore 30 years of social research that clearly shows the long term effects of not having a father in your life. Bill Cosby's message may not be perfect but at least he has the balls to confront the problem. I feel respected by Bill Cosby because he believes we do have the capacity to do so well. That we are intelligent, beautiful and good.

@IsDaMicOn78 People don't respect us because 73% of our babies are born out of wedlock, we have the highest rate of AIDS, we go to jail the most, our black men have no problem having 3-4 baby mamas and their so ignorant and low class they actually think this makes them a man. A black man has a higher chance of being killed by another black man than he does from a white man. Otherwise decent black people make excuses all the time for the niggers. The whole situation is embarrassing.

Whether black conservatives want to admit it or not, the problems in the black community are not soley of our own doing. Unfair laws, such as the Rockerfella laws, stiffer penalities for crimes equal to that of whites, again these are not my words, they're facts.

@PorkChopMissPiggy Fair enough. I respect your view, but ultimately I think the problem can be based on class economics (poverty), the remnants of segregation, and a long standing institutional bias; that coupled in with a long standing resentment by many whites.

@CadaverSplatter I think that use to be the problem but now the problem is culture. When a 16 year old girl gets pregnant we throw a babyshower for her instead of shaming her. When a black boy fights back instead of walking away from the fight we praise him for being a man. When a black man makes 3-5 women pregnant we praise him for being manly. I know the media LOVES to show black people as degenerates. They focus on us and the public can't get enough of watching niggerdom.

The problem with Bill Cosby is that he's looking at only a small part of the problem. No one wants to address how pure cocaine is making it to Harlem, only when it's rocked up an sold. For someone who had a child outside his marriage, and hid it,I have a hard time taking relationship advice from him. Use some of that pudding money an GO TO the youth instead of talking AT them.
