To the new and younger hunter don't listen to the bad comments about a Marlin lever they are rock solid guns and shot as well as a bolt gun these days.
If used for the range the lever gun was intended on it will get the job done !
In Alaska we use Marlins lever guns for every critter up here, and the gun works in all the harsh Alaskan conditions !
A Lever rifle? Use real guns... jesus Go buy a bolt action wich i way easier to hunt with and Lever Rifles are just not a rifle in my opinion and if I see a guy hunt with it.. It hurts my eyes.. I'd rather take a good Bolt Action from perhaps Blaser,Sako, Carl Gustav over any of theese

Not everyone likes to hunt "the easy way" Plus bolt actions dont work as well in the brush.... you probably would know that if you got your feet dirty. Use a 45 70 Government and some 350 grn Leverevolution bullets and Piggy will go right down for you. Piggy's are mean, tough critters and I have used a 45 70 with great effect. The bullet creates a bigger shock wave and doesn't slow down as rapidly as faster bullets do. Barnes Tripple Shock is also an excellent choice for Piggy hunts. Nice Job!!
