  • now that is what i called a helpful video.

  • now that is what i call a helpful animation. well done.

  • Driving a rotary is awesome and must to try once. Even better through a tight canyon road or over a mountain pass. It's like an electric motor filled with angry bees.

  • Revolutionary Rotary Engine ?

    .

    Really ???

    .

    so lets see 1.3 L with a 3.2L v6 fuel consumption = 2.0 litter performance

    .

If they do a 3.2L v6 with a 1.3L mpg that would be a great engine not the other way around

  • @niceboy60 my thoughts EXACTLY on this engine

  • @CRAZYXBLACKXMAN if drivers breakdown with engine issues , there is no point in calling AA or any mobile mechanic , they wouldn't know what to do it or how to fix it

    .

take it to mazda they will charge the price of a new car has no one else can fix it

  • @niceboy60 The Rx series aren't granny cars man. They are meant to be driven! Simple as that.

  • @niceboy60 Really? You like to parrot internet hearsay? Please DO name a factory-produced, NA 1.3L motor producing 232hp? Please DO name a 1.3L NA motor capable of revving >9rpm? You see, Mazda would say Renesis IS Revolutionary 'cause of a mere 1.3L Body yet capable of producing >232hp. Despite poor fuel efficiency, Rotary's HP capability, & reliability if properly maintained, are never questioned. After the win at 24 hours at Le Mans, FIA banned the rotary engine all together.

  • @bjjvancouver Rotary's HP capability, & reliability if properly maintained, that is the problem.

    .

Any mechanic will think twice before charging 5x times more for the price of service or repair

    .

With this rotatory engine cars a Mazda Mechanic can charge 10x times more for a price of a repair or service , because they are the only ones can do it , so you are stuck with them

    .

9000 rpm & and 232hp means little if this cars cant keep up with civic type r with only 200hp at 8000 rpm

  • @niceboy60

The problem with rotaries were due to the 'fast & retarded' group who bought, modified & abused them. As they say, renesis rotary has only three moving parts; there's no timing belt, no camshaft, no valves, no crankshaft/rods, etc & etc. Thus, properly maintained as in adding oil to lubricate the apex seals, they should last a very long time. RX8 does NOT burn oil. There are oil injectors which inject oil into the rotor compartment to lubriate the seals.

  • @bjjvancouver fellow a1.3L wich has the fuel consuption

    of a 3.0 v6 liter and performe as a 2.0Liter vtec.

Is not what most people want

    .

I would rather buy something like a 350z or a 370z which have lower fuel consuption more torque and more horse

    .

if the engine needs rapairs , it will cost more than the car it self to repair it , repairs in rotatory can cost around 4000 bucks wile the same repair in a normal engine can cost 200 bucks

  • @bjjvancouver because of the high consupution the RX8 is subject to a very high road tax were I live , it may only be a 1.3 L engine however it has all the draw backs of 3.0 Liter V6 without being able to keep up with a 3.0 liter v6 it self.

    .

Any rolling race with equivlent engine the 1.3 l rotatory is likely to loose duo to the compltelly lack of torque wich is well documented

  • @niceboy60 You have no credibility since I own both RX8 & 350z. Fuel consumption is about the same; ~20/mpg. You also seem to lack reading ability.

Rotary needs LESS maintenance than a reciprocal engine because of few moving parts; it only needs oil to lubricate the seals.

Despite lack to torque, its 0-60mph time is ~6second. Name any factory 1.3 - 2.0L non-turbo motor capable of this performance. NAME ONE! If I add one more rotor, or a turbo, it will rape everything on the road.

  • @bjjvancouver fellow the Civic Type R from 2001 is much faster then your rotatory engine

    .

Civic type R 2.0 vtec 197hp 8000 rpm NON TURBO

    .

    watch?v=9PdSpo6_JSY&feature=related

  • @niceboy60

You still don't get it, do you? 2.0L Integra/Civic is still 35% larger than a 1.3L Rotary which generates 232HP which is so natural in generating hp that it doesn't need artificial aid of "vtec." ... Despite Civic being a FWD (Wrong-Wheel-Drive) having less drivetrain loss than a true sports car which transfers its power to the real axle.

  • @bjjvancouver why are you concentrating on the size of the rotatory engine or trying to make it as its engine size is an advantage?

    .

its size is completely irrelevant , when the rx8 lacks all the the benefits expected from a small engines

    .

Rx8 is not light , It burns petrol has hell , it is on the high Tax brackets duo to stupid high emissions

    .

And you are bragging about its small engine ?

  • @bjjvancouver What are you talking about you idiot the RX is a 3.9L engine. Best compared with the slightly smaller Z370 V6 but producing about 100bhp less and 100lbs/ft less torque but it does use as much fuel, great. Why do you think that NOBODY uses rotary's

  • @Manoo62 Retard, study on up aviation engines before making a moronic dumbard statement, effectiveness of rotary vs. piston engines. Rotary in automotive history is a niche car, which most sheep like yourself have no clue about rotary technology. Lazy piece of shit who's too lazy to do basic maintainence. There's no otto cycle engine capable of matching hp of rotary. Australian drag-race can attest to that. 24 Hours at Le Mans can also attest to that. fucktard!

  • @Manoo62 Dumbard, saying 3.9L says much about your lack of basic math.

If you want to properly describe the RX8 Renesis, it best to say that it has a body of a 1.3L engine, yet capable of producing HP of a 2.3L engine, with a fuel consumption of a 3.9L engine.

  • @bjjvancouver Ha ha ha wow you really are a fuckwitt, you accept it uses the fuel of a 3.9L engine, where exactly do you think all that fuel is going? Bearing in mind that all engines run very close to 14.7:1 air/fuel ratio most of the time?!?!?!?!? Even a thick cunt like you MUST have wondered how such a supposedly 'tiny' engine can drink SO much fuel or did you just think they ran a little rich ha ha ha. Come back when you know what your talking about fuckwitt.

  • @niceboy60 where are you getting these numbers from the rx8 2008 it made 250 hp the 2.0 integra made 220 and the 350z made 260 and what do you drive?

  • i watch this in auto :D

  • how the FUCK do you think of that

  • Designed by Felix Wankel, a German. Adopted by Mazda. Enough with the excessive paragraphs.

  • i like how they say "Mazda's Revolutionary Rotary Engine". when it is of German design ;)

  • @x0druid0x They call it "Mazda's Revolutionary Rotary Engine" because Mazda has been the only car company to actually perfect Felix Wankel's Rotary design. Mazda also has been the only company to support the design with such passion. Stop trying to sound smart.

  • @ImaFenderGuy ture enuff of what u said, the title just implies that it was a Mazda design. Since I'm here, I dont have to sound smart 'cause I know I am. =)

  • @x0druid0x Yet you did try by your ausation even tho we all know many companies around the world today dint invent the cilinder engine. So ima ask what your point was by your comment? Racist over the japs?

  • @13SmokeAlot nope not at all, they indeed make a great deal of machines, autos, bikes, watercraft. Heck with Toyota alone with a city named after them, they ship out extraordinary machines. I have nuffin with the Japs, I was just setting the story straight. All I saying that the title gives the implication that Mazda designed and built the rotary engine.

  • @x0druid0x THEY DID DESIGN AND BUILD IT, WHAT U MENT IS THAT THE JAPS WHERE TAKING PROPS FOR THE ENGINE THAT WAS MADE IN EUROPE. BUT I SEE WHAT U MENT IN A WAY.

  • That is the funkiest shit ive ever seen
