no way Moat.. I knew Gman (in person.. intimdator (phone).. and peso (phone a lot).. G-man was the best of them all .. being the only one to never have lost to peso! I was hanging out with this little crew of NHL95 players back then.. i remember the days well! I was also in the XBand NYC get together where they all met
@nukepuppy I beg to disagree. The best player on xband was the shooter d.s.t., intimidator, peso, blitzkrieg and tazboytrout21.xband was definitely ahead of its time.
All of the plays were like the exact same. I have this for the plug and play and I found a glitch where you can give your players 99 on each stat with leftover points. One timers are the best.
This is a great old game, although it's a bit easy against CPU. I once managed to win Philadelphia 18-0 playing with Washington... and on 5 minute periods.
Some nice tic-tac-toe plays. This is one of my favorite games of all time because my brother and I used to play it religiously. You can have realistic low scoring games and prevent "cheap goals" if you just play smart in front of your own net. The only downside about the game is lack of challenge from the CPU.
because I don't like the new games. They are simulations, not hockey games. In NHL95 you just play, with 2 buttons. It might sound stupid, but I don't like the graphics of the new games. There is too much try of being realisic, not the gameplay is important. Playing NHL95 (with improved CPU opponents) is hockey, you have to work hard for every scoring chance, you have to dump and chase, you have to pass perfectly and you have to play great defense.
You're right, you cant compare it. The new NHL games SUCK. Unless you love glitzy graphics and HORRIBLE gameplay. Get with it, man. Games like NHL 95 were about FUN, not graphics.
X Band was way ahead of its time, some of the Best players on NHL 95 were Nightshade, The Great One, Top Shelfster, Elway Romac,

how can you improve cpu opponents?

I have a very old editor. The game and the editor seem to run only on my old computer from 95. I have this computer only for this game.

Somehow, don't know why, had in mind that he shoots right. Of course he doesn't. Pretty poor for me as a Rangers' fan. I have to change it
