Billy can't help it. He sings JUST.LIKE.BRUCE. He's a natural mimick, like McCartney. When Billy did a duet with Ray Charles, he sounded exactly like Ray. He does a duet with Tony Bennett, he sounds just like Tony.

"Twice the artest" Bruce has won 19 Grammy Awards, 2 Golden Globe awards, 1 Academy Award-Also is in Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Song Writers Hall of Fame. Billy Joel has only 6 Grammy awards. Billy has no golden globe-No Academy award. Bruce has had the more impressive career period the end.

Billy Joel is also in both the R and R HOF and the SW HOF and has a Tony Award.

He's also sold a lot more recs than Bruce Springsteen, and hasn't even put out an album in 16 years. If we say that the "best" artists are those with the most awards from elitist, snobby organizations, then we're leaving out personal preference and the true meaning of music in general. Not to say Bruce doesn't have an impressive career or great music, but he's not more impressive because he has won more awards.

Billy Joel is one of my favorites. You can not base recored sales on an artist being more talented or "better." Britany Spears has sold over 35 million albums... Does not mean a thing. To me she has very little talent. So to say Bruce has more accolades then Billy or Billy has sold more records-It's a scratch. You have your opinion and I have mine, I agree to disagree with you.

@dmich428 Also your right, Billy has not put out a record in 16 years and that is not considered a good thing. There is something to be said of longevity and still having some thing to say. Bruce is still putting out great records and selling them by the millions and appeals to all generations.

Billy Joel's music is perfect. The melodies, counter melodies, and saxophone are used to a level of expertise that Bruce Springsteen or anyone else could only dream of.Billy Joel also has the ability to completely change his voice and style with every new album.When every song you ever produced is perfection or close to it you burn out a lot faster than someone who puts out albums twice as fast with a bunch of mediocre songs and only one of two great songs on each album.

Look up billy joel. Says he has sold total of over 100 million records. Look up bruce springsteen says he has sold over 120 million records. This means billy has sold less then 120 million and bruce has sold over 120 million records. This means bruce has sold more total records then billy. What do I think? Good for billy but THE BOSS still has him beat total albums sold. Not to mention he has 20 grammy awards which crushes billy. Not bad for a guy who comes from NJ.
