@ultimatezeldafan101 It's not the 3-wheeled design that caused the crash. Another car was involved as well. There's more to this crash than a "single point" cause.
My Grandfather designed the fins on the 58 Cadillac and his daughter, my mother mentioned how he detested Buckminster Fuller and his car. One of the few who made Grandpa worry. But It didn't happen. My mom didn't care for Buckminster fuller it was kinda personal. I have Buckminster Fuller material in Grandpa's auto memorabilia collection. Locked in the vault away from the light of day. Now that everybody is passed on dare I say I think Bucky's car is kinda cool?
Fantastic ... absolutely fantastic, everything Buckminster Fuller did was to man a success ... never to make a profit. It's time we started to do this with a passion!
i don't remember where i found it.. it was posted on some obscure site.. i just re-encoded it.. and.. NO I did NOT put the silly music in it.. Robert Snyder is the only clue I see..
@caminojc In 1971, this was not considered "silly music". Unfortunately - although the lyrics do talk about being a "passenger" (which refers to Bucky's description of us all being "passengers and crew on Spaceship Earth") - the melody is a bit distracting 40 years later. But that's the way it goes with soundtrack choices some times.
Abolish the Federal Reserve Corporation and mandate the Treasury to issue usury-free currency such as United States Notes and renewable energy credits (US RECs) directly to individual citizens. Watch "The Money Masters" and investigate Operation 911. Transform the warfare "economy" to the solar economy. (Open Secrets)
according to nytimes website Only one of the cars survives, and New Yorkers will get a chance to see it this summer in an exhibition opening June 26 at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York
Nobody really knows what the inside was like, otherwise the car museum in Reno (where the remaining Dymaxion car resides most of the time). The dymaxion car was powered by a ford straight 8 engine and got 25-30mpg. It was designed by Fuller as a flying jet propelled vehicle with inflatable wings, with it's "taxing" being the first step.
If you do enough searching you can find detail photos of the Dymaxion interior. Blueprints, too. I think there's at least three of them around in various places. What amazes me is comparing that car to the contemporary vehicles on the road. Amazing!
Stupid to put music like that over the video. Enjoyed the video. If there is talking in the video, musical soundtrack should be lower and not have words, meaning instrumental music. Music should augment the video not be a distraction to the video or subject at hand. Really enjoyed the video and ignoring the music. The only remaining car is on display (on loan) at Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn Michigan until Jan 15 2008. I hope to visit and see this and take some pictures.
The dymaxion was a GREAT car
ford or dodge should make a new dymaxion with extra's like modernisation
fix the three wheel thing (it tipped over killed a person with three wheels)
so it will still have three wheels
because it is a great car!
like this comment if you want ford to make one

I like the song, but its WAY too loud. I dig Bucky's weird voice. Iggy's weird voice is cool too. But not so loud over Bucky.

It's so wonderful to see Bucky speak about his inventions, but I think the music is just distracting.
