A better 'banter' would be along the lines -"I am going to help "you" the spectator perform a magic trick. You will be making some predictions and we will see how many of them you got right at the end."

Now continue with the trick and don't tell if the prediction is right. Just look at the card (smile, shake your head say "close,getting better" and place the cards down). At the end ask the spectator how many he thinks he got right. Then turn the cards over to reveal all were right!! Mind freak!!

1 question if a spectator.. who is paying very good attention.. noticed that the cards you wrote down.. the order of it doesnt follow on the 3 card stack u have there.. -__-

i think its better.. to mislead or misdirect them somehow or slight of hand.. when you picked up the final card.. you pick up the other 2 already chosen card and put them behind the final card.. which well make the 3 card stack.. follow on the cards you wrote down ;) peace from a fellow card entertainer ;)

@ghossler I've done this trick before and I make it a point to make conversation with my audience.

Usually, I stop myself after 2 cards, then pick mine. Then I pick up the deck I have laid off to the side and I correct the order. I distract them while I'm doing this by making it look like I'm just fiddling with the cards in my hand, and with a little bit of slight of hand, I have the cards in the correct order.

What makes the trick is convincing your crowd to focus on you, not the cards.

@TheClubbman ofc i agreed with you.. with these tricks is always crucial to somehow get the attention away from the cards to you. But sometimes u meet someone who is after to find out what exactly ur doing.. and is really focused on the cards.. even when u talk to them or try to have eye contact or waving with stuff.. their eyes are still on the cards.. it will be hard to mislead.. and by putting the 2 picked cards behind the final card... without making a fuss about it.. could work :)

what you have to do is ... take the last card and put it on the bottom of the other 2 selected cards.... because otherwise the spectator will realize that the cards are not in the right order
