  • nicely done. If you're keen on strings, I recommend watching the old videos of The Corries. Roy made his own hybrid instruments, calling them Combolins.

  • This is an awesome rendition. It's nice to see innovative playing of old songs, because that's the way they were played then.

BTW, it's not an American song. It's Irish.

  • grazie gus' - you're absolutely right, it is an irish song - one that's traditionally played by every marching band in america. i first heard it when i was in the army. thank you again - bill

  • @GustavusAdolphus1 It's not Irish sung all over the UK & Ireland but probably English.

  • What is the song book you are using, I would love to practice these songs for the Saint Louis Renaissance Faire

  • I must have watched this 20 times, now...

  • grazie 'peat ... there's no prize for endurance, however.

    (thank you.)

  • I'm just catching this - really nicely done! It amazes me just how much variety there is with this tune, lyrically, musically, emotionally. Nice pickin'!

  • thank you, bing - if i could make my mandolin express even half what you do with the dulcimer, i'd be a very happy man.

  • Very nice one you make me smile!!

    Sarah :-)
